Masquerade
I felt restless as I rested my head on the soft sofa. It collapsed! Bumalik agad ako sa Maynila dahil doon.
Pumasok si Dion galing sa kwarto ko. We stopped and stayed inside my apartment for awhile. Para kuhanin ang mga gamit ko. I tried to insist but I failed to change his mind. I sighed after seeing him with my baggage.
"Let's go?" he asked.
Tinaas ko ang kilay ko at tumayo. "You forgot my underwear and some skin care, Dion."
"I'll buy you there," he initiated.
I sighed again and rolled my eyes. He's back to his old habits. The arrogant Gidion I know.
"So, tell me. When did you start receiving roses?" he asked while driving.
We are heading to his condo.
"It's been months. I think... two months ago," I answered.
Hindi naman ako under in that project but the image of our project is under the company where I was staying on.
"I think it was a project by Elisha Delgacio?" some of the staffs stated.
Napalingon ako doon. Marciano is on the edge, minamasahe ang sentido. I smirked. The consequence of letting that girl invest.
It was fixed. That's good for the company. But it doesn't change the fact that some works of our company failed. But it wasn't under me. It was from different person. I thought she's that smart woman trying to cling with Dion. She's nothing but a dump. And she didn't even showed up to the meeting!
Nasa isang convenience store ako. I don't have friends to hang with so I stayed inside for a minutes. I was reading on a booklet and glanced on someone who entered.
Vien in her leather jacket and a black cap entered. She grab two drinks from refrigerator. Kinakabahan akong tumalikod.
A necklace was found around the place where the accident happened. I told Dion about the necklace.
"That was Vien's necklace. We exchanged necklace during our mid school. I have my necklace here, with Vien's picture on it," I explained to Dion.
I showed it to him.
"May I borrow it for awhile?" Dion asked that night.
I let him. He wants to add that on their investigation. Something that would solve the case.
Kinuha ko ang cellphone ko sa bulsa. I tried to dial Dion's number. My hands were trembling. I was so nervous after seeing my friend. That I trusted too much. But turned out feeling weird.
I started getting paranoid. I stood up and scooped my things. I was so anxious while walking on the pavements. I was looking behind me as I felt like someone is into me.
I tried to dial his number again but can't reached. I send him voice mail instead and slipped my phone inside the pocket of my trench coat and walked faster.
