Aurora grunted as she carried her load of laundry up the stairs to her room. She pulled out her swimsuit, cover up, and a beach outfit she spent all of an hour putting together. After which, she kicked the laundry basket into her closet to sort and fold later.

Bella entered the room then as Aurora had just slipped her suit on, just getting home from hanging out with Jacob. She smiled which Aurora returned. Things still weren't great between the two, but they were fine. They stayed out of each other's hair and minded their own business for the most part.

"Cute suit," Bella tried.

"Thanks."

Bella looked at the clothes she had laid out. "Going out?"

"Mhm."

"Jake's wondering what's been up with you," this caused Aurora to look her step sisters way confused. "Ever since you went cliff diving you haven't wanted to hang out with us."

Aurora nodded. "I figured you two could use some space," she lied. Ever since that day she had spent little time with Paul, asking him about shifters filling his head with questions.

One of the things she had found out was that their wolves had a second instinct separate from their own. It seemed they were incredibly jealous and territorial. Paul growled at the thought of Aurora being near another shifter, even though Jacob had yet to make the change. Although it didn't bother Aurora much, it was a bit of a red flag to her.

She remembered feeling jealous of the relationship Bella had with Edward. He always wanted to be near her and take care of her. It was sweet, but in other ways it was incredibly possessive. Aurora wanted that to a point. She didn't belong to anyone, but she wanted to feel the doting love of a partner.

"Who are you going out with?" Bella questioned.

"His names Paul. He's from the reservation." Bella couldn't put a face to the name, so Aurora continued. "He's got these super hot muscles and these rock hard abs, chisled jaw, dark eyes. I'm telling you," she sat next to Bella and without realizing it, was gossiping with her like they were best friends, "He is tall, dark, and handsome personified."

"Does he hang out with Sam Uleys friends?" Aurora nodded. "I'm not sure if you should go out with him."

"Please, give me a good reason why I should cancel my date."

"Jacob says they act weird, like some type of cult. Apparently Embry totally ditched Jake and Quil to start hanging out with them. They're reckless and a act like they own the reservation."

Aurora scoffed, thinking on the things she knew that Bella and Jacob didnt. "Tell you what, sis." She stood and threw the rest of her outfit on. "I will keep an eye out for anything suspicious and report back to you."

"That's sarcastic," Bella breathed.

Aurora smirked. "I'll see you tonight."

She rushed downstairs to see her dad sitting on the couch, drinking beer and watching TV. She sighed, knowing it would be tough to get out of the house.
Quickly, she darted across the room to the door.

"Bye, daddy. Love you--"

"Hold it." She sighed and turned to her dad. "Going to the beach?"

"Yes, sir."

"With?"

Aurora shrugged and rubbed behind her ear, her eyed darting to the carpet. "Some friends."

"Aurora Rae Swan, you'd better tell me who you're going with and why you're dressed like that."
