Aro blinked profusely and instantly released Felix's hand from his own, clapping his hands together and holding them near his grinning face. The delight he was feeling clearly shown through his bright red eyes. Marcus and Caius didn't need to read very thoroughly into his expression as they too smirked pleased with Felix's mission outcome.
"One month!" Aro shouted with glee. "Yes, Aurora will make a fine addition to our coven... indeed." He said thoughtfully recollecting the events that had occurred between Felix and Aurora. He had no clue how Felix had done it. He changed her mind so easily!
Aro chalked it up to the mate bond that the two shared. Perhaps Aurora had finally seen the truth, that the two were meant to be. Either way, he didn't care. Soon Aro would possess one of the strongest gifts he had yet witnessed.
Felix was giddy himself. Although he hadn't doubted his capabilities for a second, he was still pleasantly pleased with how quickly he had made her fall in love with him. He could hardly wait to have her back in his arms again. The thought of bringing her back to Italy before his coven, changing her, and marrying her made him feel alive again. Like if Aurora had become Felix's one reason for existing.
Just then, the throne room doors opened to reveal the tiny yet threatening Jane. She marched forward and bowed before the kings.
"Apologies for the intrusion, masters. I come bearing news. A large scale of newborns are being created in Seattle at an exceeding rate. It would appear someone is creating an army."
"Just take care of it, Jane," Caius dismissed her.
Before Jane could leave, Aro stopped her. "Jane." She paused, "You said they're being created in Seattle? Near..."
"Aro," Marcus interrupted. "Do not forget that your decisions are being watched by a certain Cullen."
Frustrated, Aro resettled his composure and once again focused on Jane. "I'll leave it to you." His eyes told a story that his mind nor his lips could even tell aloud. Alice Cullen had been watching the decisions he made which made it more difficult for him to plot against them. "Take whoever you need and handle it how you see fit." Fortunately for Jane, she could read him like a book.
She bowed and turned to leave the throne room when Felix called out to her. "Jane. I will accompany you."
She shook her head. "That won't be necessary, Felix. You've only just returned from this venture. I'd be happy to handle—"
"I am accompanying you."
Again, Jane began walking out of the throne room followed by Felix who bowed to the kings and took his leave. Caius turned to his brother Marcus and pondered aloud, "Do you truly believe she has fallen in love with him so soon? According to Aro, in her mind she was certain of that mutt mate she had, not to mention her adoration for her father."
Marcus thought for a moment before answering. "The love she had for the shifter was nothing more than a forced, unreciprocated teenage fantasy. A mate bond," he lifted a finger as a matter of fact, "is the strongest kind of connection there is. Even if she is still confused and uncertain, the moment she is turned and does away with her humanity she will no longer deny what is truthfully there." He thought of his beloved Didyme. "No love is greater."
Caius turned back to Aro. "I suppose you're right. And after some time getting used to living our lifestyle, her father could have some sort of tragic accident too keep her from returning home. Of course, Bella will soon be changed as well which will give her some form of comfort amongst our kind. But what of the shifter? His feelings will, no doubt, not deteriorate."
Aro put his hands together and ticked his fingers. Alice's vision was of the shifters overtaking their castle and destroying each of them alongside Aurora, but that was the vision of the kings taking her by force. Surely if it was her choice to be changed then she wouldn't side with him. Still they had to be sure it would not end in travesty.
"We could stage a coup of sorts. Lure the shifter to come alone to meet with Aurora, when in reality who would be waiting there," his eyes met each brother, "but a few hand selected guardsmen poised and ready for the kill."
"Surely he would sense them," Marcus argued.
"Which would make him believe Aurora was in danger." Aro smiled deviously and laughed a psychotic laugh. "Yes, we'll make him to believe she is in need of his help. If he were to alert his pack, he'd be long gone before they even arrived. As would we!"
Caius was grinning from ear to ear listening to Aro's plan to rid Aurora of every thing that would cause her to drift back to her old life. Marcus seemed indifferent, but was happy on the inside. The whole coup seemed fool proof!
"What a wonderful plan! We must begin right away. The sooner he is gone, the sooner we can have Aurora."
"Whom shall we send?" Marcus inquired. To the question, Aro tapped his chin with mischief in his eyes.
"Let me think.."
