Aurora woke to the sound of Charlie's alarm that Sunday morning. She quietly got out of bed and dressed. Bella had been having a difficult time since Jacob had phased, though she didn't know that was what was going on. For a while, Aurora had been trying to think of a way to see him without Bella knowing. This seemed to be the opportunity.
She crept out of the room and shut the door in time to see her dad shutting to door to his room. He tried to talk when Aurora shushed him and gestured to go downstairs. She didn't want to wake Bella
"Morning, daddy."
"Morning, kitten. By how modest you dressed, I'm assuming you're not off to see your boyfriend today?"
She stuck her tongue out at him, receiving one back. "No, I'm going to try to see Jake today."
"You sure Billy's going to let you in?" He took a sip of coffee.
Aurora shrugged, "Figured I'd give it a shot."
He nodded. The two walked out the house together. He plopped down in his car and rolled down the window, giving Aurora a quick peck on the check before heading down to the station. She waved him off to work before getting I'm her own car and making the drive to the reservation.
Aurora pulled up on the opposite side of the house, knowing that Bella was known for driving by in hopes of seeing him. She knocked on the door and Billy received her.
"Aurora, you're up early. Jacob's still sleeping."
"How's he been doing?" She asked as Billy welcomed her inside.
"He's learning to control himself very quickly. The pack has been gracious with him, about as gracious as teenage boys are."
She nodded and accepted a cup of coffee from him. They sat for the better part of an hour discussing Jacob and his disinterest in taking his rightful position as alpha of the pack. Soon, they heard the sound of an older vehicle pulling into the drive. It had to be Bella.
Aurora had expected her to do something reckless and unexpected, but not this. She ducked behind the couch as Billy opened up the door.
"Hi, Billy."
"Hello, Bella. I'm sorry, he isn't home."
"I'm sorry, Billy. I really need to see him." Aurora heard Bella push past the old man and move down the hall to Jacob's room. Opening the door, hearing the sound of Jake's snoring grow louder as she did. She then heard the back door open and looked up to see Billy closing the front door and looking her way concerned.
Aurora made her way to Jacob's room and saw Bella marching up to the pack. She shook Jacob a little.
"Jake, wake up." His snorning stopped as he looked up at her confused. "Bella's here." The two looked out the window just in time to see Bella slap Paul. Aurora gasped and Jacob took off running out the door knowing what was to come next.
Aurora ran out the door in time to see Jacob phase and run passed Bella to Paul. The two fought tooth and claw, Paul having lost his temper and Jacob defending Bella.
Bella was on the dirt, confused and scared. Aurora came to her side and lifted her up, checking for injuries in the process.
"Aurora!" She shouted. "What are you doing here?"
She ignored Bellas question and tried to run to the fight and stop Paul when she felt hot arms around her, tugging her away. It was Embry.
"Let me go, I need to help him!"
"He'll be fine, Aurora. He just needs to calm down! Take it easy!"
She had somehow twisted herself around in the struggle. Embry was now holding her thighs up around him with her arms around his neck. Aurora cried feeling useless. She had never cried in front of the boys before, she was just so worried about Paul.
