"To the lake! Quickly!" Antti's hockey classmates shout as they rush out of the classroom with their hockey equipment filled backpacks to the lake.
"Last one to the lake has to play goalie!" the leader of the group called out.
"Noooo!!!" They ran as fast as they could, passing each other to be a skater.
When they arrived at the lake, they broke hard at the shore with shock. The ice was no longer there--it was a watery surface.
"Last one to the lake would not freeze!" someone corrected.
"What happened to the lake?!"
There was no answer.
"What's happening?" Antti calls out from behind them.
"Look!" The leader moved out of the way and pointed to the lake for him to see what happened.
"Ohhh..." Antti frowned. "Sorry guys, that's my fault."
"Your fault?" He chuckled at bit. "How is that your fault?"
"I broke the ice off the surface."
"How did you do that? You're tiny! You can't do that!"
Then Antti began to explain to happened last night to the discouraged kids.
"You can control water?" They all began to laugh. "Unbelievable!"
The leader knelt to Antti's level. "Thanks for taking the blame, Antti, but we won't buy it." He stood back up and faced his friends. "C'mon guys, let's go."
They began to leave the lake.
"No! Wait! Guys! I-I'll show you! See!!!"
The guys turned around and their eyes widen with shock. Most of the water from the lake was suspeneded in the air with Antti holding his hands out towards it.
"See? I did it." Antti made an anxious look.
"Beautiful tricks, Antti. Lovely." They turned around and walked away.Back in the classroom after lunch, all the students were talking to each when the teacher quieted them down. "Okay, class. Quiet now." She waited until she got everyone's attention. "Alright, so today is Friday, so you know what that means!"
Antti raised his hand.
"Yes, Antti?"
"It means that it's close to the weekend!"
"That is true, but I wasn't looking for that answer."
Antti slumped in his chair.
"It's show and tell day! I hope everyone brought something to show!"
All the kids began to chatter happily about their objects (or animals) they brought in.
"Okay class, don't spoil what you brought over! Let's be nice and show them to the whole class!" She began to call off students to share what they brought in.
"Oh no!" Antti muttered in himself. "I forgot to bring in something!" Panic began to rise in him. "What am I gonna show? What am I gonna show?" He began to serach in his backpack, hoping that there was something in there he can show. He sat back up with tears brimming in his eyes. "Oh no..." He slammed his head on the desk top in frustration. "This is terrrrrrible..." He looked up and saw the water in his water bottle swirling and shaking like a whirlpool during a storm. "That's right..." Antti's eyes brighten. "I can show my powers!" All his misery washed away with joy and relief. "Whew, close one!"
Then the teacher called his name. "Antti?"
Confidently, Antti stood up and walked to the front of the class.
The teacher made a confused look. "Antti? What are you going to show?"
"I'm gonna do something...awesome!" And just like that full of eagerness, Antti collected all the water from the classroom from sinks to water bottles and levitated it over his classmates.
Everyone turned pale with frighten looks on their face, looking up at the water.
"Okay...thank you...Antti." The teacher cleared her throat.
"You're welcome." Antti pushed the water back to its original place. He was about to return to his seat when the teacher tapped him.
She knelt to his height and whispered, "Meet me after school."
Antti nodded his head and whispered back. "Okay." He walked back to his seat happily. After school when everyone left the classroom, Antti went to his teacher.
"Antti, do me one favor...actually, two," the teacher started.
"Yes?" Antti made a worried look.
"One, never ever do what you did in the classroom ever again. Don't even do that in public. Okay?"
"I can't use my powers then--"
"Not in public. You'll scare people. Okay, number two: does your parents know about this?"
Antti shook his head.
"Okay then, I'll like for you to make your parents known to what you can do. Is that fine?"
"Yes."
"You may go. Have a nice weekend."
"Thank you. You, too." Antti ambled out of the classroom.
But that night, Antti did not tell his parents about his powers.
