"I assume you're going to be invisible the entire time?"

"Obviously."

We've been walking for a little while already and we're almost there. Luckily there are some convenience stores close by.

"Not really."

"You don't seem to grasp the depths of my hatred." She says coldly.

"Perhaps not." I shrug a little. "After all I'm not the object of it nor am I the one who holds it."

"It makes sense that you wouldn't understand." She rolls her eyes slowly.

"I understand more then you might expect." She glances over to me with a slightly smug smirk.

"Do enlighten me." She coos playfully, nudging me with her elbow.

"Humans fall into one of three categories." I hold up 3 fingers.

I drop two before saying, "The first is those that cause others suffering to make their lives better."

I raise one more. "The second are those that suffer because they are kind."

And finally the last finger. "The third is those that have lost their kindness and refuse to be trampled upon, but also refuse to tread on others."

Chara listened with a calm but sad smile.

"In the end only the cruel and the lucky lead good lives."

"Maybe you understand more then I gave you credit for." She giggles softly. "So then you understand why I hate them all?"

"Hating everyone is too much work." I put my hands in my pockets. "I treat everyone kindly until they give me a reason not to."

"And thus you fall into the third category." She puts up three fingers and taps me on the forehead with them.

"I'm also just plain lucky." I smile at the odd gesture. "I have loving parents, amazing friends, I've never experienced any true suffering."

"And yet you still view humans as flawed?"

"Beyond flawed!" I chuckle at this. "Humankind as a whole are a blight, it's just an unavoidable truth."

"You view them in such a negative light and yet you remain joyful?"

"No reason to let the scum dampen my fun." I grin at her a little. "Many say life sucks and then you die, but I resent that ending."

She tilts her head curiously, thinking about my words.

"I want to be happy in spite of all the negative things in the world."

"And more than anything that's what you Desire?"

"I guess you could also say I'm Determined to be happy." I shrug as we cross the street. "Stores up ahead."

Chara doesn't respond, still thinking about one thing or another so I pull her across.

"There's still something I don't understand [Y/n]." I turn my head to her curiously. "Despite knowing of the depravity of humans you don't let it bother you, how?"

"It does bother me." I reply simply. "More than once I've been awake for entire nights lamenting my very  nature, hating what I am and humanity as a whole."

"That kind of hate doesn't just go away."

"Perhaps my Desire to be happy just overwhelms it?"

"Plausible." She sighs and walks into the store, trailing behind me.
