LANELLE, Belly, Steven, Conrad and Jeremiah were all in the car.
No one was saying anything until a police officer suddenly knocked on the car window.
Lanelle covered her face with her hands,
"fuck" she sighed.

"OFFICERS THANK YOU. IF WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN, I CAN PROMISE YOU THAT MUCH,Laurel assured them.
While Laurel was talking with the officers, Lanelle, Belly, Jeremiah, Conrad and Steven were all shamefully leaning against the wall.
"Tell Mr. Fisher the chief wants to set up a tea time when he gets back in town" the officer told Laurel
"Absolutely", she nodded
"Sorry again for all the trouble" Laurel apologised, while leading the officers out of the door.
"Have a good night, officers" she added, while fully closing the door.
Laurel turned around and looked at them with a disappointing gaze.
"How could you guys be so irresponsible?"
She scolded
"Mom, it wasn't a big deal. All right? Seriously." Steven tried to defend them.
"The cops were just looking to break up the bonfire" he continued, while stepping closer to his mother to get his point across.
"Not a big deal?" Laurel repeated
"Yes" Steven tried to convince her
Lanelle winced, "you shouldn't have said that"
she muttered
" I would say getting picked up by the cops for underage drinking is a pretty big deal, Steven" Laurel retorted.
Steven only sighed and looked at the floor, until he smelled something.
He scoffed , "We-Were you guys, smoking tonight?" Steven asked his mom in disbelief.
"What?" Laurel raised her eyebrows in shock,
"Keep your voice down. Ilana and Susannah are asleep on the couch." she scolded
"She didn't say no" Lanelle whispered to Belly
"Well, I wasn't yelling. You- you were"
Steven pointed out while stumbling over his words
