"GOOD MORNING NELLY!" Susannah cheered as she pulled the cover off her body.
"No, leave me alone." Lanelle groaned as she tried to put the cover back on her.
"You sure are a morning person, aren't you?" Susannah joked as she pinched the girl's cheek.
Lanelle playfully swatted her hands away, "I'm going to embarrass myself in front of everyone."
"No you won't! Don't say that."
"I'm definitely going to find a way to fall in front of everybody."
"If you fall — Jeremiah will catch you."
Oh right Lanelle's going to the ball with Jeremiah instead of Louis — there's no bad blood between the two, he was quite relieved to hear that she wanted to go with Jeremiah — since Louis didn't really feel like going anyways.
Susannah smiled, "I'm happy that you two are together — I don't know how you got him to go with you, he swore up and down he'd never go to one of these things."
"Oh, we're not together." Lanelle immediately defended.
"Yet." Susannah added as she brushed a strand out of Lanelle's face, "I love you nelly — your practically my youngest daughter."
The girl leaned into the woman's touch, "I love you too Susie."
After a moment of silence Lanelle spoke up,
"Where's my mom?
"She's downstairs — waiting for you."
Lanelle climbed out of bed and took Susannah's hand — "Well, what are we waiting for?"
The girl went downstairs and saw Belly, Jeremiah, Conrad, Steven, Laurel and her mom all waiting.
"Good morning sleeping beauty." Jeremiah complimented as he set her cereal on the counter for her.
"Cruella has awaken!" Conrad announced — causing everyone to laugh.
Lanelle took the closest pillow to her and threw it at his face. "Shut up Connie - poo"
The boy groaned at the old nickname, "I thought we stopped with the nickname about a few years ago."
"Nope." Lanelle retorted as she ate the cereal — smiling gratefully at Jeremiah. Not sparing a glance at Steven as their last conversation ended on a bad note.
"Ready for today?" Jeremiah questioned while looking at her.
"Ready as I'll ever be." The girl sighed as she almost had to go.
