Braelynn's POV:

"Brae, naka simangot ka nanaman! Badtrip ka 'no?" My friend Chiyo asked, and I just shook my head and just focused my gaze on my laptop.

"Palagi naman." Tipid kong sabi.

"Let me guess, sa inyo ka natulog kagabi 'no?" Tanong niya at napa buntong hininga nalang ako at napa-iling nalang siya.

My parents hate each other. Since I was a child, I always heard them arguing from morning to evening and it just never ends. They argue about everything and I finally had enough of them, so I moved out of the house when I was sixteen and they respected my decision, but my younger sister Viola was left alone there, but I didn't care back then because we aren't that close and we also hate each other.

And if there's one thing I really want to ask them is if they really loved each other, because I heard they were arranged to be married back then, and I was the outcome of a loveless marriage. I already accepted it, but seeing them argue every day was just too much for me. I never saw a hint of love in their eyes whenever they looked at each other, and it was all pure hatred.

But they were both good parents to me. They never hated me or anything. My mom was a loving and caring woman and she was very kind. My dad was very gentle and a very caring father.

And my younger sister, Viola, I actually never expected a sibling and I remember that one time on Christmas they asked what I wanted. I told them I wanted a sibling, and a year later I met Viola. I was shocked because I never expected that they would take my wish seriously. But Viola and I aren't that close either, and we argue all the time. I heard from my parents that she's always out drinking and partying with her friends, and I can blame her. It's also a way of escape in that house.

"I saw your sister at Clavo de comer last night with her friends and I saw you in her. You guys are very alike." Chiyo said and I just sighed.

"Is she having fun?" I asked while typing on my keyboard and Chiyo nodded in response.

"Yeah, if only you saw her that night. She was wild! She kept drinking like there was no tomorrow. I guess it runs in the genes. You were also like that when you were eighteen." She said and I just shook my head and let out a laugh.

"Did she change her hair color again? She's going to go bald if she doesn't stop bleaching her hair." I said and Chiyo laughed.

"Yeah, her hair is now turquoise blue. It looks great. I also want to dye my hair." She said and I just shook my head.

"Do you miss her?" She suddenly asked and my forehead creased.

"Where did that come from? I was just asking about her. I mean, I still hate her." I said and Chiyo rolled her eyes.

I saw a girl with turquoise blue hair come into the coffee shop. She was wearing a navy green varsity jacket and a tank top, with high waist shorts and net leggings, and her hair was in a half-up ponytail and she was wearing sunglasses. "Speaking about the devil." I said.

She rolled her eyes when she saw me and was about to leave when I called her. "Hey! Don't you dare come out of that door. Come here." I strictly said and she just rolled her eyes.

"What?!" She said and I stood up and I was still inches taller than her and I glared at her.

"Where have you been last night?! You're really getting more stubborn." I said and I removed her sunglasses and saw dark circles under her eyes, and she snatched the sunglasses from my hand.

"Why do you care?! As if you're not also stubborn." She hissed and I rolled my eyes.

"Stupid! Mom was so worried about you! When are you going to grow up huh? I also heard you're failing your classes!" I exclaimed and she just rolled her eyes and was about to turn her back to me when I grabbed her arm.

"Let go of me! Don't act like you really care about me!" She shouted and I sarcastically laughed.

"Stop being a pain the ass! I'm just lecturing you because you're getting out of hand and you're not even listening." I said and let go of her hand.

I gave her a death stare and she gulped. "I'm still your older sister, so you do what I say and go home because mom and dad are already waiting for you." I said.

She turned her back at me. "Fuck you." I heard her whisper under her breath.

"What the fuck you just said to me?" I said and grabbed her hand. "Oh, you're not going to go anywhere after you just cursed me, you ungrateful brat! I was just lecturing you because you're getting out of control and I was just asking you to go home because mom and dad are worried about you! I don't even get why mom and dad are worried about a bitch like you who doesn't even care about her family. I'm telling you, Viola, don't test me." I said and I stopped when I noticed tears streaming down her face.

Chiyo stood up to interfere. "Tama na 'yan, Brae." Sabi niya pero umiling ako.

"Don't cry in my face, Viola. You know what you're doing." I said and she just looked away and wiped her tears.

"Viola, sige na umalis kana. Ako na bahala sa ate mo." Chiyo said and the bitch nodded and left and I sat on my seat again.

I massaged my head and I sipped on my coffee and I could feel Chiyo's stare at me and I just sighed and rolled my eyes. "Brae, mali 'yung ginawa mo sana intindihin mo nalang 'yung bata at ganyan ka din naman noon diba? Dapat alam mo ang nararamdaman ng kapatid mo." She said and I took out my handkerchief and wiped my tears.

"That's the problem! I don't want her to end up like me!" I shouted and she stopped and stared at me and was obviously shocked because of what I said.

"What do you mean end up like you? Brae, you turned out just fine." She said and I shook my head and tears streamed down my cheeks.

I fixed my things and stood up and hurriedly left there. I could hear Chiyo calling me, but I ignored her. I went inside my car and drove to my company. My employees greeted me, but I ignored them and went straight to my office. I also ignored my secretary.

I made a mistake back then, and I still regret it to this day.
