Chapter 02

TW: Abortion

Braelynn's POV:

I got pregnant when I was seventeen because of a one-night stand, and I aborted it because I wasn't ready, and I was still studying. My parents will be very disappointed and I can't let them know how careless I was. I was also getting ready to inherit the company and I've been waiting for that for a long time now. I don't remember the guy I did it with and I don't want to know who he was because I know, even though we just met that night, I know he'll be mad at me for killing his child.

And even though I only had the baby for a month, I felt genuinely happy knowing that I'm growing a person inside me and whenever I see baby things at the mall, I always feel guilty and want to rethink my decisions. I had priorities to do, and having a child wasn't in my plans that day.

I regretted it the day after I aborted it. I cried the whole day, but I managed to move on because if I hadn't aborted it, I wouldn't have achieved all these things in my life, and even though having your own child by your side seems so happy, I can't because I wasn't ready yet and I have priorities to do more. And whenever I see a baby, it always warms my heart because I can imagine a mini me running around.

"Oh? Bakit nandito ka nanamang buntis ka? Nasaan asawa mo?" Sabi ko kay Brynn at napa-irap naman siya at inalalayan ko siyang makaupo sa couch kabuwanan na nga niya gala pa ng gala.

"Pangit mo." Sabi niya at napa-irap naman ako.

"Excuse me? Mag pinsan tayo para mo na din sinabi na pangit lahi natin." Sabi ko at natawa naman siya at napa-iling.

"Ay sino nagsabing magkalahi tayo? Ampon ka lang." Sabi niya at napa-iling nalang ako.

"Kapal ah! Ang sama ng ugali mong buntis ka." Sabi ko at natawa naman siya.

"Darcy wants to talk to you." She said and I sighed. Darcy always calls us whenever we did something. She's like a principal.

"What did I do this time?" I rolled my eyes.

"Aba'y malay ko sa'yo! What did you do? Did you and Viola fight again? Because I think that's the reason why Darcy wants to talk to you." Sabi niya at napa-irap naman ako.

"Hay nako! Ang tigas ng ulo ng batang 'yon naiistress ako. Palit nga tayo ng kapatid! Mas gusto ko pa si Rya." Napa-irap ako at natawa naman siya.

"No way! Baka manganak pa ako ng maaga dahil kay Viola." Sabi niya at natawa naman ako tama naman siya. 

I went to see Darcy after I drove Brynn to their house, and I'm used to this. She's always calling me to her office like I'm a child that needs to be lectured. "What? Why did you call me? Is this about Viola again? Because if it is, then I'm leaving." I said and she sighed.

"Many saw your sister at Clavo de Comer last night and she acted like an animal that just got out of her cage and you should lecture her as her older sister. I know what happened to you, Brae, and I know you don't want her to make the same mistakes you made." She said and I looked away and gulped.

"I had lectured her earlier, but she didn't listen, and she even cursed at me. What an ungrateful brat. I'm tired of lecturing her and I don't know what to do with her anymore. I don't even care anymore. Whatever happens to her she should know the consequences of her actions. She doesn't even respect me as her older sister." I said and rolled my eyes.

"Did you try to talk to her? Maybe she just needs someone to be by her side as a family and you guys are experiencing the same thing. You should know what she needs and what she's feeling and that the partying is an escape for her." She said and shook my head and rolled my eyes.

"I tried many times, but she always avoided me. You know what, I give up on everything. I don't know what to do with her anymore and I also give up as her older sister. I don't care anymore what ever happens to her." I said and Darcy looked shock on what I just said.

I stood up and when I left her office, I stopped when I saw Viola from the door, but I rolled my eyes and ignored her and walked away and drove to my penthouse, where I rested my head on the couch and closed my eyes.

When I was her age, I was also out partying all day and night, and I constantly ran away from our house because it made me feel suffocated just being there and hearing my parents argue over everything. I know Viola just needs someone to talk to, and I don't know why it's hard for me to be there for her. Maybe because since I was a child, we haven't been that close either and we fight every day.

And as much as I want to be by her side and tell her I'm always here for her and I care for her so much but I can't even say it to her. We grew up in a non effectionate family and I guess it's also the reason why my sister and I find it hard to express to each other our care and love. I care for Viola because she's my sister.

"Sorry na." Kinalabit ako ni Chiyo at napa buntong hininga ako.

"You don't have to say sorry you didn't even do anything." I said and she smiled.

"I'm always here for you, okay?" She said and I just forced a smile.

She hugged me and I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "Let's go to Clavo de comer! My treat." She said.

"Fine, I'll just clear my schedule tonight." I said.

"Yes! Let's go! We're going to get wasted tonight and let's forget about our problems!" She shouted and I just shook my head and laughed.

I wore a black silk backless bodycon dress, I curled my hair, I sprayed some Victoria Secret perfume, and I wore Yves Saint Lauren Rouge Pur Couture lipstick, Saint Laurent Opyum Heeled Sandals, and a Chanel 2013 small Double Flap shoulder bag.

"You look so expensive as always!" Chiyo exclaimed and I just shrugged and smirked.

"It runs in the blood." I said and she chuckled.

"Bet ko na din ata maging Walter ampunin mo na ako." She said and I arched my brow and crossed my arms above my chest.

"Wala kaming kamag-anak na na hindi umaabot sa five feet ang height." Sabi ko at napahawak naman siya sa dibdib niya.

"Ouch! Grabe kana!" Sabi niya at umakto na nasasaktan.

I wore my Gentle Monster black sunglasses and we went inside my Tesla and drove to Clavo de comer.

When I entered the bar, I could feel the excitement tingling through my entire body. I could also smell alcohol, various people's perfumes, and loud music that could have damaged everyone's eardrums but instead was giving everyone the time of their lives.

"Brae! It's been a long time since you came here we missed you!" One of the bar owners said.

"I missed you too Sibyl! Where's Rhys?" I asked and the side of her lips rose up.

I rolled my eyes. "He's in the front! He's the DJ tonight. He's always waiting for you to come back here." She said and I nodded and looked in front and I saw Rhys having fun.

"Ooh! Comeback! Comeback!" Chiyo cheered and I just shook my head.

Rhys is my ex-fling and we were just playing and there's nothing serious between us. We're good friends now and there are no hard feelings. "Shut up Chiyo! I was just asking about him." I rolled my eyes.

My family has been good friends with them since then. Clavo de Comer has seven owners, and they're all powerful men and women in various lines of business.
