Braelynn's POV:
I woke up in the early morning when my phone suddenly rang, and I closed my eyes while reaching for my phone on the nightstand. Other things fell because of what I was doing, and when I picked it up, I immediately answered the call.
"Brae! Are you awake? Manganganak na si Brynn!" Sigaw ni Darcy.
I immediately got up and hurriedly grabbed my bag and I'm still half asleep but I didn't care so I continued to hurry and I looked for my car key but I couldn't find it.
"Fuck! Where is my car keys?!" Inis na sigaw ko.
"Brae? Brae? Are you still there? Calm down! Her water broke and she's currently in labor right now." Sabi niya kaya mas lalo akong nagmadali na hanapin ang susi ko.
When I found my keys I put on whatever shoes I could grab because of the rush and when I got to the hospital that Darcy said I immediately went straight to the front desk.
"Nurse! Brynn Levine! Where is her room?!" Hinihingal na sabi ko.
"Room 218 po." Sabi ng nurse at paulit ulit kong pinindot ang button ng elevator para makarating agad kay Brynn.
While inside the elevator, I was restless and kept walking, but I didn't have anyone with me inside and I can even beat Brynn's husband in my nervousness. When the elevator door opened, I immediately ran to find her room.
When I found it, I immediately opened the door and saw Brynn holding both hands at the end of her bed and bending down and I also heard her moaning and cursing in pain and Leander rubbing her back.
"Love, ang sakit na talaga..." Umiiyak na sabi ni Brynn.
"I'm here, baby... You can do this." Sabi ni Leander.
I immediately came closer and Brynn looked at me and I could see the tears streaming down her face and I could clearly see the pain in her eyes but she was trying to fight.
"Hey, you can do this. After this, you'll be with your son and it will be worth all the pain." Sabi ko at nagpilit ng ngiti.
Ramdam ko ang titig sa'min ni Darcy at kita ko din ang pagsilay ng ngiti sa bibig niya. "I can't do this anymore.. It hurts so bad and I'm so tired.." Brynn said while crying and I wiped her tears.
"My love, I'm here. I won't leave you. I love you so much. We'll get through this together." Sabi ni Leander.
May nurse na pumasok para i-check si Brynn at may pumasok na din na mga Doctor. "10cm na siya we need to deliver this baby now!" Sabi ng Doctor at may pumasok na mga tao pa sa loob na may mga dalang gamit.
Darcy and I were on the side so we wouldn't get in the way and they laid Brynn down and Leander took her hand and kissed her forehead and I could also see the tears in her eyes. "Okay, now I need you to push." Mahinahong sabi ng Doctor at napapikit ako at umiwas ng tingin ng umire si Brynn.
"I can see the head now. Great job. Now I need you to push again." Sabi ng Doctor at huminga naman ako ng malalim.
"Para namang ikaw ang nanganganak sa ginagawa mo." Natatawang sabi ni Darcy pero hindi ko siya pinansin.
Tears streamed down my face as I thanked God for the blessing he granted on Brynn and Leander when we heard the baby's cry. Leander was sobbing next to Brynn, holding her hand and giving it a constant kiss as he dried her tears. I then turned to look at Brynn, who appeared to be exhausted.
He was crying and the nurses were cleaning him when I noticed the baby. He resembles his father so much, down to the smallest details. "Hi..." I softly said.
"He looks like Leander." Darcy said while smiling and also tearing up a little.
Brynn cried a lot when she finally held their baby in her arms, and I can see in her eyes that the exhaustion and tiredness paid off. When they handed their son to her after Brynn had been cleaned, my tears started to fall again as I watched them."Hello, Cassius Diesel you look so much like your father." Brynn said and kissed the baby's forehead.
"Hello, son. I'm your father." Cassius wrapped his tiny fingers around his father's index finger as Leander spoke while holding his tiny hand.
I can't help but cry as I watch them, because I'm so happy for them. This is a new chapter for them, and they're finally starting their own family, and I couldn't be happier for them.
I still recall the day Brynn swore to me over a drink that she was content on her own and didn't need a marriage to make her happy, but now I see her hugging her son and her husband kissing her forehead. She at last experienced the joy she deserves.
"Ikaw na sunod." Napaigtad ako ng biglang magsalita si Darcy sa tabi ko.
"Ikaw muna wala pa sa plano ko ang magkapamilya." Sabi ko at natawa naman siya.
"You're going to eat your own words one day, Brae, and I can feel that you're next." She winked and I just shook my head and laughed.
"Are you some kind of future teller or something?" Natatawang sabi ko.
"Nope, I just know." Nagkibit balikat siya.
I occasionally daydream about having my own family and a devoted husband because I can imagine how genuinely happy it is to wake up knowing that you have finally found your own happily ever after and to watch your children grow up together with a husband who will choose you every day and fall in love with you every day.
I can't even picture myself getting married and starting a family of my own. Instead, I can picture myself working my tail off at my job for the rest of time and waking up to the same schedule every day. But if I ever have the chance to fall in love and make memories with someone, I swear I won't let go. Whatever the future holds for me, I hope my future self is happy because that's what matters most to me.
Biglang bumukas ang pintuan ng room at pati ako ay nagulat at pati si Brynn na nagpapa breastfeed na kay Cassius ay nagulat.
"Congratulations! And welcome to the world baby Cassius!" Nagulat ako ng biglang lumabas si parents ni Brynn at Leander kasama ang iba pa nilang kamag-anak.
Nakita ko si Elinor kaya sinalubong namin siya ni Darcy at binati at pagkatapos ay lumapit siya kay Brynn at napangiti siya ng makita si Cassius.
"How have you been? What are you feeling? Congratulations! I'm so happy for you guys." Elinor said and she held Cassius's tiny hand.
"We're doing great and thank you so much." Brynn said and held Elinor's hand and caressed it.
Lumapit ang parents nila Brynn. "Can we see our apo?" Tita Anita politely asked and Brynn nodded and she carefully handed Cassius to them.
I went out of Brynn's room to give them some privacy and Elinor and Darcy went with me and we sat at a bench.
"Annette would have probably loved to have seen this moment." I said and they both sighed.
"Ganito pala kapag kulang tayo." Sabi ko at tumango naman sila.
"She's probably having fun with her child now, and I hope she's doing great since it's been two years since we last contacted her." Elinor sadly said.
"When is she going to come back? I miss our loud and clumsy cousin." I said and they both chuckled.
"I don't know, but I'm hoping she has a quick return home in mind. I wonder if anyone was there to hold her hand during labor because it must have been hard." Darcy said.
"She is still the youngest and most fragile of us, so I wish we were there to hold her hand." I said.
"Let's just hope she's doing well wherever she is and that she returns home soon." Elinor sighed.
"I wonder what Amadeus's reaction is when he finds out they had a child, and I totally understand Annette because she had no choice and the child is a Trevino. I can already imagine how powerful their child would be. Imagine being the first born in both the Walter and Trevino Empires." I whispered.
"He or she would be treated as royalty, I can already imagine." Elinor said
