🦋End the war inside you to mend🦋

Raelynn's pov:

I leaned against the other side of the counter, looking at him cleaning the blood.

"You are missing a lot of spots," I commented.

"Mind doing it then," he suggested as he stopped to look at me.

I sigh, "Give me."

I grab the towel before scrubbing it lightly on the spot he missed.

"Getting special help ey," Theo taunted as he walked into the kitchen. He was looking at Kyson with a big smirk on his face, his eyes glistening with mischieve.

"Done," I said as I put the towel in the sink.

I turned back to the men.

"So mind telling me how you ended up in this gated community?" I inquired as I crossed my arm on my chest.

"We came looking for a guy and the security man is one of our alibis," Kyson replied firmly.

Whhhaaattttt...

"We didn't know that you live alone," Theo added.

"I do... For a long time now." I said.

"Why?" Kyson asked looking at me.

"The guys at the mansion are nice and all but they are loud... I like having some 'me' time and being in a quiet place." I explained.

Theo nodded, "Understandable."

"What guy were you looking for?" I questioned curiously.

"The one who lived right in front of you," Kyson replied.

I was surprised.

"The old man that lives in front of me?" I repeated and they nodded.

"Lived," Theo corrected me.

"He's an ex-member of a mafia. He tried to kill us multiples time so tonight he died. Unfortunately, Val got hurt." Kyson stated.

"What if I didn't live here?" I asked looking at Kyson.

"We would have forced whoever lives here to help us." He replied.

"We wouldn't hurt them though," Theo added.

"Wait," I suddenly said when I realise something," Each house here has a security system that calls the police right the second someone tries to break in. Plus there are cameras at each angle of the houses. If you don't want to get caught, get rid of the camera footage asap."

Theo looked at Kyson, who nodded,"Get rid of them."

"The police might already be on their way," I added.

"Don't worry," Theo reassured me as he walked away with his phone in his hand.

"And how did you get here? Where's your car?" I asked. He open his mouth to reply but then stop and stared.

"Aren't you getting a little too worried for us?"

"And aren't you a little too chill about it? You want to deal with the cops." I stated.

He pulled himself away from the counter, walking toward me. He easily caged me between the counter and himself, both of his hands on my sides. He leaned down, his face a few inches from mine. Since I wasn't wearing heels, I was way shorter than him.

"I have been in this mafia world way before you... I always have my backup plans ready." He stated.

"Sure, you weren't even aware of the security alarm or the cameras." I pointed out.
