Raelynn's pov:

I'm back, where are you?-Ryker.

"I have to go," I told Natalie as I read the message.

"Ryker?" She asked me and I gave her a nod.

"At least he's replying to your messages." She murmured but I heard it. I gave her a questioning look.

"What do you mean?" I inquired.

She hesitated to talk, "He left me on read since the morning."

Right now, it was 3 15 pm.

"Oh," I spoke, "I'll try to talk-"

She stopped me.

"No, I don't want him to think that I'm complaining about him to his sister." She explained, wrapping her arms around herself.

"Don't worry, he isn't like that. I think what might have happened was that he read the message, went to work and then he forgot to reply." I try to explain.

I wasn't making up excuses for Ryker. He did the same thing to me a lot of times in the past and honestly, it never bothered me since I'm his sister but I understand Natalie and I wasn't going to take my brother's side.

"Right," she said not believing me.

"I'll get going, see you around."

"See ya."

----

I reached my mansion and I parked my car. I stepped out, making my way to our office upstairs. The whole mansion was silent and empty as most of the guys were out working and some were in their rooms relaxing.

I opened the door and stepped inside. Ryker was sitting on his chair, eating some chicken nuggets as his eyes were fixed on his laptop's screen.

"Hello,"

I spoke as I made my way to my chair.

"Where were you?" He inquired briefly glancing at me.

"Out," I replied briefly.

He leaned in his seat, turning to me, "That's so informative. I wouldn't have thought of it."

His sarcasm was on point.

I shrugged, "Take the hint bro."

He reached to grab something on the side and lightly threw it on my lap. I looked down and it was one of the chicken wraps that I usually order.

Thankfully it was wrapped tightly in the paper and nothing spilt on my clothes.

I unwrapped it and started to eat.

"So what's up?" I asked him casually.

"Nothing much, same old routine and you?" He asked, his focus on me.

"Same thing..." I replied.

We both remained quiet as I continued to eat and he was now sipping on some sprite, his eyes were back on the laptop's screen.

"So... why didn't you reply to Natalie?" I casually asked. As the words sink in, he choked on his drink making him coughed a few times before he looked at me wide-eyed.

"Shit! I forgot to reply." He spoke.

"You are screwed," I commented.

He put the drink on the table and rushed to grab his phone. I leaned in my seat, looking at him struggling to unlock his phone.
