SOMEONE

Chapter 6

The team Leni-Kiko was currently boarding the plane to attend a rally and as usual Leni and Kiko were surrounded by people asking them for pictures. The senators also entertained other people but it was clearly the two that had more people surrounding them.

The senators and their staff boarded first while the security was escorting Leni and Kiko through the crowd and leading them to towards the boarding gate.

After going through security and before going through the gate Risa looked back to check on Leni and Kiko. They were almost at the gate and protected by the security so she just followed her staff and went inside the plane.

Risa looked for her seat and when she found it she quickly sat down to gave people space to move.

Meanwhile Leni felt sorry for not being able to accomodate everyone's request but the security reminded her that they didn't have much time before departure so she and Kiko said their goodbyes and boarded the plane.

Leni looked for her seat and when she saw her number she looked down to find Risa rummaging through her bag.

She took a seat beside her and put her seatbelt on.

Risa observed Leni. She was quiet and was fidgeting with her ring.
Risa grabbed her arm and smiled at her.
She knew that Leni didn't particularly like airplanes, she was over her fear of flying but a little bit of nervousness always followed her whenever she boarded a plane.

"Ilang oras lang to" Risa tried to reassure Leni.

Leni smiled at the senator and with her other hand squeezed the senator's hand.

"Thank you" Leni said.

The flight went smoothly, neither Leni nor Risa talked much and it was comforting for Leni.
She knew that Risa was there for her but let Leni decide what she needed and if she wanted to talk she would have entertained her if she needed silent comfort she would provide that too.

Risa was looking at the window but always made sure that her arm was situated at the armrest near Leni. A silent reminder that she gave her space but if Leni needed her she could easily reach her.

During the flight Leni could hear their team behind her, some engaging in small talks other talking about the campaign and then there were Risa and Leni silently sitting there.

Leni glanced at Risa and saw the senator looking at the window on her side.
The senator would usually find a topic to talk about with her but this was one of the few occasions that Risa would not overstep in her personal space.

It was just a silly nervousness for the flight but still Risa knew exactly how to handle Leni's discomfort.

Suddenly her mind drifted to the times the senator has been there for her.
Risa always seemed to know what to say or do whenever she had a difficult time be it a small episode like this or a bigger issue. Maybe it was because of the similar hardships in life that they went through but slowly Risa became a support system for Leni.

Risa felt eyes on her so she turned around only to find Leni with her eyes closed and a serene expression on her face.

After a few hours they landed and went with their respective staff to the hotel.

It was afternoon and they had a few hours to relax before dinner with a few volunteer groups. Leni did a courtesy visit to local officials along with Kiko since they were being endorsed in that city.

Risa was in her room and scrolling through social media watching the posts where she was mentioned.

People were already posting pictures and videos of Leni and Kiko who were with the mayor.
