Risa was still waiting for her kids, it was getting late and the sun was already setting. She looked at the clock again and it was almost dinner time but the kids were still not coming.
She tried to call one of them.
"Hello ma?" Sinta answered
"Anak, asan na kayo?" She asked
"Ma, malalate po kame, kakaalis palang po namin dito at naabutan po kame ng traffic"
"Osige, ingat kayo sa pag drive dyan at update me okay?"
"Okay ma, rest ka muna dyan" Sinta said
"Sige, love you"
"Love you ma"
Risa ended the call and sighed.
Perfect, now she had more time to overthink about what happened to Leni.
She went to Leni's contact number just decided to call her.
*Bahala na si Batman*
She was not going to play this game again with her.
After a few rings Leni answered.
"Hello?"
Risa sat up straight
"Hello?"
"Oh, bakit parang nerbyos ka dyan" Leni said
Risa was dumbfounded. Was she just overthinking? To Leni it seemed like nothing happened and she was just calm
"Okay ka lang?" Asked Risa
"Of course, na busy lang sa mga meeting namin para sa Angat Buhay"
Risa sighed
"Ris?"
Risa clenched her jaw
"Yeah I'm here" Risa said closing her eyes and trying to calm herself.
"Hindi lang ako masyado naka text or call dahil nag oversee din ako para sa mga sinend namin sa Banaue" Leni explained
Risa hid her face with her hand.
*PRANING PA MORE RISA* she said to herself
She was embarrassed by herself.
*kung maka concern ka dyan kala mo jowa ka* she kept saying to herself
"Ris" Leni called her again
"Yes, sorry. I was just worried"
"I'm okay"
Risa sighed
"Buti naman" Risa then smiled at the silly thoughts that ran through her head.
"I wanted to call you Ris pero nabusy lang talaga. I'm sorry kung nag worry ka pa" Leni said
Now she really was embarrassed.
"Don't say that. Mas nahihiya ako tuloy"
Leni chuckled on the other line.
"Bakit ka naman mahihiya. I'm thankful na concerned ka sakin senator" Leni said
Risa stopped functioning right there and then.
What was that? Since when did Leni get brave to say dangerous things like that?
Risa smiled.
"Wag ka magsalita ng ganyan. Please. Baka hindi ko kakayanin" Risa leaned back on the couch and took a pillow to bury her face in it. She tried to make her smile go away
"Why? Totoo naman" Leni said
Risa bit her lip and put mute on her phone and squealed a little. She took a deep breath and calmed herself before unmuting the call.
