Chapter 41

It was one eventless evening for Leni, her daughters were all busy with their own stuff. Risa had a few meetings and the attorney was waiting for her so they could have dinner together.

They scheduled a date night after work before spending time abroad with their kids.

Leni cooked something simple in her condo so they could rest if the senator was too tired or just enjoy a movie or other activities. She made sure to cook a variety of food and to include alcohol knowing how much Risa enjoyed a glass of it after a long day at work.

She prepared every single thing she thought the senator would enjoy, that was the least she could do. Even with something simple like dinner she wanted to make the senator feel relaxed and take care of her knowing she wouldn't have the chance to do it for s long time.

After cooking dinner and preparing a few other things for the senator Leni stayed on the couch busying herself with a new episode of the many kdramas that she had to put aside during campaign season.

Leni waited for Risa.

It was now almost midnight and the senator was still unreachable. It was uncommon for Risa to not update Leni. The latter was especially worried since she knew there was a high chance that the senator would have a few drinks with her colleagues.

She was starting to feel worried so she decided to text her.

Ris, are you on your way na ba?

She waited a few more minutes for a reply but she didn't receive any. She couldn't stop but worry so she called her.

*ring ring*

One phone call and Risa didn't answer.

The second one, still no reply.

The third one, still nothing.

She sighed so she just texted her.

Ris, I'm starting to get worried here
so please as soon as you get a few minutes
free call me or text me
so I'll know you're safe.
Be safe.

After that she just stayed there waiting.

Finally after a while Risa called her back.

Leni immediately answered.

"Hello?"

Leni frowned. She heard noise from the other side and people laughing loudly.

"Ris?"

"Hey" Risa answered

*Hey?* Leni took a deep breath trying to calm herself.

"Are you okay?" She didn't have time to be mad, she had to know the senator was safe.

"Yes. Nag eenjoy nga kame dito" Risa said with a happy tone

*At least she's fine* she thought.

"Okay. Pag tapos na kayo dyan call me if you need me to pick you up okay? Or if kasama mo yung driver mo text me nalang or call me pag papunta ka na" she said

"Punta saan?" Risa asked.

Leni paused. Risa forgot about their date night.
