My pretty princess is ONE year old today and I am so incredibly blessed to be given the opportunity to watch her grow. Being Serenity's mum means everything to me and she has changed my life for the better.

"Say cheese."
For Serenity's birthday, we are hosting a princess themed party at this super cute indoor playground which is toddler friendly. Serenity had a blast the first time that we brought her here so we wanted to give her another happy moment since this day is all about her.
"Are we renewing our vows?" Juan jokes as we pose for family pictures and I ignore him. "I just can't help but notice that you're wearing a wedding dress and I'm in a suit."
"Juan."
"CHEESE!" Serenity grabs my face with both hands and I muster the biggest smile that I can for her as our guests sigh in adoration.
"My baby." I rub her back before giving her a big kiss. "You're growing up too fast."
Serenity is rocking an Aurora inspired dress while I settled for a white dress which I am surprisingly able to move easily in. Since I'm wearing a corset with gloves, I have that option of deconstructing my dress and essentially having a second outfit which I probably will do when Serenity wants to get in the ball pit.
"We look good together." Juan comments as he takes Serenity out of my arms and we move ahead so others can have their pictures taken.
"I know we do." I roll my eyes at him. "Once upon a time, we were a family until you messed it up."

Juan kisses my head as we near our friends and I close my eyes to take it all in. Things have been challenging without the man that I once considered to be my life partner but our time apart has done me some good.
When he first entered my life, I didn't know how dependent I would be on him to get my life back on track. I needed to learn how to be without him and for the first time in maybe three or four years, I can finally survive without the need of someone's approval.
