twenty-two 🌱

Taehyung giggled.

"Are you asking me on a date doll?" Jungkook  blushed deeply and scratched his neck. "N-no.." Taehyung hummed, eyes amused as he took the raven's arm.

"Let's go then.." Jungkook was still read as he picked up his bag, throwing it over his shoulder.

They said their goodbyes to the grandma before exiting the library. It was around 11pm, the day was fairly cool, just the perfect amount of sun and wind. Jungkook was leading Taehyung down the street while they both talked about books.

And yes, Jungkook did borrow the book Taehyung was interested in for him.

And yes, they looked perfect together. Taehyung was on the inner side of the pavement, his hands around Jungkook's arm, softly laughing at their conversation and enjoying the breeze and the raven's company.

While Jungkook was ranting about how many books he's read like a true nerd, his hand having a basket in it but Taehyung did question it. He liked how random and cute the younger was.

Soon they came to an open space park. It was swings and toys littered  around the big grassy area,  big apple trees giving shade and fruits around. Thy sat under the biggest one, on the red and white checkered cloth Jungkook spread.

It was no wonder he suddenly picked up that basket before they left home. Maybe he was going to ask Taehyung to go out with him all along.. but got shy and couldn't do it.

'How pretty.. '

Taehyung thought suddenly with a small smile and a tilt of his head, seeing Jungkook bask in plentiful breeze. Through his glasses you could see his eyes suddenly open, looking around before landing on Taehyung, looking shy with a blush.

"Hyung.. are you bored yet?" Taehyung giggled and broke off a piece of chocolate, biting some and shoving the rest in Jungkook's mouth. "We're in a cool place, under a big apple tree and enjoying chocolate and snacks. I'm also with the cutest dongsaeng nerd I can ever think off. There's cute and  chubby children playing around and occasionally giving me flowers. Do you think I'm bored yet?"

He giggled accepting the pink flower from a very shy, pink little boy and adding it to his collection. "It's lovely." He smiled patting the child's head making him giggle shyly and fiddle with his fingers.

Jungkook smiled and picked up the flower, brushing Taehyung's ash hair back and placing it behind his ear.

"You're the prettiest boy I've ever seen hyung." Jungkook smiled widely and looked to the direction where a little girl was trying to get his attention by showing him her toy tractor.

Taehyung blushed.

He couldn't help but turn as pink as the flower in his hair after the most sincere sentence he had ever heard.

All he could do was stare at Jungkook's side profile and blush like a teen getting their first kiss.

Today was indeed lovely wasn't it?

...

On the train again, except it was empty. Just the two of them going back to their dorms.

6:49pm..

Sunset shining through the windows, falling onto their sleeping faces.
Well Jungkook's.

Taehyung leaned on his shoulder, while the raven's head leaned against the train.

Taehyung felt giddy looking at all the pictures they took today.

He smiled seeing the last two which Jungkook took.

The first was him with a couple of children while they all proposed on one knee with a flower in hand, him looking all excited with his hands covering his mouth with the widest boxy smile.

And the last, Jungkook had his arm wrapped around his waist, Taehyung's arms around his neck as they kissed. Their eyes we're closed and smiling through the whole thing.

They weren't together.
But.
He didn't care.

He liked  Jungkook and won't ruin anything.
He was content for now.
He was happy.
