my apologies for the lack of updates

but here's one!

its pretty short so sorry about that

Nicks POV

Its only just past 7 when I hear a knock at the door.

Charlie groans and mumbles some complete nonsense before immediately passing out again.

I sleepily drag myself through the apartment and around boxes we are yet to unpack and to the front door.

I open it and am met with a face I hadn't seen since high school.

Ben Hope.

"You've got thirty seconds to tell me why you're here," I mutter after the initial shock wears off.

"Oh shit," he says, wide eyed.

I blink slowly at him, waiting for him to elaborate.

"Look mate, I swear I didn't know you guys lived here," he rushes out, "I just live a couple doors down and wanted to introduce myself before I headed off to work."

I'm pretty fucking awake now.

"Sorry you live down the hall?" I ask, making sure I heard him right.

"7A"

"Well, thanks for being courteous but please don't bother us again I hope you understand."

"Yeah yeah, I was a right prick in high school I don't blame you," he runs his hand down the back of his neck before awkwardly taking a step back and wandering down the hallway to the lift.

I close the door and make my way back to our bedroom.

"Who was it?" Charlie asks, giving me a sleepy smile.

"Oh no one," I lie, giving him a kiss on the tip of his nose, "Just a neighbour popping in to introduce themselves."

"Oh that was nice of them."

"Yeah," I hesitate, "it was."
