School goes by quickly since it's the last day before break. I pack up my things closing my locker before leaving. Seeing Ruby and Jamal standing with César out by the school gate near the Red Impala from this morning. I continue walking quietly trying not to catch their attention before Jamal sees me. "Hold up girl where are you going?!" He says grabbing the back of my bag. "Home, this little meeting is between you all I've heard enough." I say turning around and looking at them. "Listen I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be angry with you, im gonna fix it." He says in a pleading voice. "Come on Alyćia, you have to hang out with us, César didn't mean to be and ass Monse and Olivia are coming too." Ruby says as César glares at him. "Okay, I'll go." I sigh and shake my head. "Okay, we'll all meet up later at Ruby's," Jamal says as I walk past them. "Where you going fine ass Hyna." Spooky calls from the car to me as I walk by. "Home." I call looking back at him continuing to walk.

Once I get back to the house I put down all my school stuff undressing and getting into the shower thinking about the few interactions I've had with César's older brother. Once I get out of the shower I wrap myself up in a towel and walk to my room sitting at my makeup table putting on lipgloss highlighter and mascara before changing into a loose pink babydoll dress and a pair of white platform naked Wolfe boots. Pulling my hair into high piggy tails leaving some short pieces out in the front.
After I finish getting dressed I toss my keys into my purse along with a few dollars before leaving. It was already getting late when I made it to Ruby's house seeing everyone waiting together. "Finally now we can go." Jamal says shaking his head scolding me. "Sorry, no one gave me a time." I say rolling my eyes as we all walk out of Ruby's house getting into Abuela's car. "It's fine, none of the good parties start till late anyhow," César says as we all pile into the car. "Party! I thought we were just going to trick or treat?" Jamal yells in a shrill voice. "I vote we go party." Olivia says sitting beside Monse and Ruby. "Yeah party that sounds fun we're in high school now." Ruby says trying to sound nonchalant even though he's obviously nervous. "Well me and Monse are getting candy." Jamal says looking at her raising his eyebrows. "Yeah let's go Jamal." Monse says rolling her eyes calmly as the car parks in Brentwood, Jamal and Monse go separate ways. The rest of us continued to walk until we noticed a few parties going on. "Let's go to this one, there's a bunch of people." Olivia says pulling me towards the crowd of people, César and Ruby following behind us.
