It was already Monday afternoon, and the end of break I was supposed to be back at school today, knowing all my friends would be wondering where I am unless César had told them. After finishing breakfast that Oscar and I shared he throws away our trash leaning back in his seat.
"That nurse said hopefully we can leave sometime today," I say looking over at Oscar who was watching his phone to pass the time. "Then we have a long drive ahead of us." He says clicking off his phone and looking over at me. "I'm sorry Oscar," I mumble looking over his stone-faced expression thinking of all the trouble I've caused him that he blames on himself.
"Just get some rest alright." He says and I nod, he turns out the lights leaving a small mounted tv illuminating the room, falling asleep.
After what seemed like minutes I was woken up by shaking.
"Hey Alyćia wake up, they're going to be coming back in here with some paperwork for you and she left your prescription," Oscar says gently waking me up. I sit up looking at the blue and white bag with my name and information on it.
Doctor Torez comes into the room along with my nurse from before carrying a pack of papers and an ink pen. She sits them in front of me and in sign them filling out my missing information reaching them back to Dr.
Torez. She pulls the papers apart and hands me back a little less than half. "Thats resources, directions on how to take care of your injury and anything else you may need," she says and I nod as my nurse walks around removing my Iv putting a bandaid on to stop the bleeding.
Dr. Torez gets my things out reaching me the bag full of my clothes, jewelry and shoes handing them to spooky. "I know your clothes aren't suitable to put back on now, so we brought you some hospital scrubs to wear on your way home." The nurse says giving me a stack of scrub bottoms and a long sleeve top as well and some socks. "Thank you." I say and she nods "there's a wheelchair by the door whenever you're ready to go." She says as the two of them walk out of the room leaving me and spooky.
He helps me take off my hospital gown and dresses me in the salmon pink color scrubs, as well as helping with my socks and shoes. "Are you ready to go?"He asks playfully and I nod laughing at him. "Yes since the moment I got here." I say as he walks around the bed opening the door and getting the wheel chair for me helping me get into it,
"Let's get you home." He says sitting all my things in my lap along with my pillow pushing me out of the room and past the nurses station. "I'll see you all out." My nurse from earlier says walking around the dividing counter. "We wanted to say good luck and we hope you get well." She says handing me a small brown teddy bear along with a card.
