After we finish showering Oscar drys me off helping me get dressed before we go back into my room. "I need new dressing on my stitches." I mumble handing him the stuff watching as he covers my arm looking carefully at my stitches then helping me put on a sling.

"It's not too late for dinner, you need to eat something and start your medicine." Oscar says and I nod grabbing my bag of pills walking towards him. "As long as you're eating with me, and I want to cook for you."
I say looking back at him who looks conflicted about my question. "What do you know about cooking?" He asks sarcastically walking up behind me pulling me into him. "My mom used to cook she showed me how to when I was younger." I say as spooky places kisses against my neck then cheek. "Let's make something together then." He says letting me go.

I reach up opening the cabinets seeing what was inside grabbing out some rice and multiple seasoning. "How about some arroz con pollo and you can make the chicken to go with it." I say as spooky walks to the fridge, "So is that something you'd make often?" He asks pulling out a pack of chicken sitting it on the counter. "Yes, my dad Ezal Puerto Rican, and my mom Eniola was Nigerian." I say smiling to him getting out tomato, onion, peppers and garlic, even though I'll need help cutting them up.

"Where are your pots and pans?" Oscar asks and I point to the large brown wooden hutch, which also had most of
Our kitchen appliances. Oscar gabs out a few things we'll need along with the blender sitting them on the kitchen island.

Oscar helped doing most of the work, since I didn't have much mobility with my hurt arm, the food turned out better than I was hoping for. Once the rice was finished I added peas and olives, topping it off with the chicken Oscar had made. I took my medicine downing it with water as two of us sat down together eating dinner. "I really want something like this Oscar." I say watching as he eats.

"You're very domesticated, Alyćia." He says looking at me as if he was approving. "Thanks I think." I say as we finish our food putting out dishes into the sink and putting up our leftovers. "Come on let's go to bed." Oscar says grabbing my hand leading me back to my room to lay down. "I gotta call my dad." I say shaking my head as the two of us climb into bed.
Oscar nods laying back fixing the blanket over the two of us.

I dial my dads phone number hoping it wasn't too late for him to answer. After the third ring he picks up. "Hi mija, I'm sorry I haven't been able to call I got into a stretch of no phone service." He says as he answers the phone. "When will you be home papa?" I ask holding the phone to my ear. "Tomorrow night hopefully, Is everything alright?" He asks concern lacing his voice. "Just a lot to catch up on, be safe coming home." I say smiling to myself missing my fathers voice.

Soon after we say goodnight and hangup the phone.
