The next morning I order myself some DoorDash going into the living room and turning on tv waiting for my food. Soon after I hear a car pull up stopping in front of the house seeing a guy get out the car holding a few bags, I jump up walking towards the front door as he walks up the yard. I pull the door open as he walks to the porch handing me my things. "Thanks." I say casually and he nods turning to leave. I stand at the door looking down at me bags before noticing a green and yellow car cruising down the block.
I quickly shut and lock the door walking back into the living room sitting my things on the couch looking out the window at the three men in the car eyeing the block. I close the curtains sinking into the couch sighing opening up my food and eating while watching tv until late. I call dad once it got dark outside assuring him everything was fine telling him goodnight before passing out on the couch.
The next few days I stay in the house watching as the Prophets cruise down the block occasionally stopping in front of the house for a while before leaving. My father still hadn't came home since weather had delayed his traveling. It was already the following Thursday a week since he had left, and he didn't know when he would be back.
The next morning I woke up to the sound of knocking at the front door. I get up rubbing my face walking to the kitchen barely opening the front door seeing Olivia who had became my closest friend since living with Ruby.
"Hey, Alyćia." She says in her usual cheery voice walking in as I push the door open for her. "I came to see if you wanted to go shopping together, I haven't seen you since Halloween and I was wanting to grab some new things for school." She says sitting down. "Fine as long as you braid my hair first." I say walking to the fridge getting out a water. "Deal and what's with the new hickeys?" Olivia asks raising her eyebrows looking at me. "Spooky." I say lowly while opening my water. "César's brother really!" She says her eyes going wide in surprise. "Yeah I guess we're kinda seeing each other now." I say shrugging walking towards my room getting the supplies she'll need for my hair. "You're literally crazy!" She says sighing as I walk back into the kitchen with everything putting it onto the counter. "As long as you don't get hurt." Olivia says pulling out a chair for me to sit on. I sit down and she begins sectioning my hair. "He's just a man we're not anything serious yet." I say looking down at my phone playing us some music while she does my hair. After a couple hours Olivia finishes putting gold beads into my hair.
