I slept most of the night, unless being checked on by a nurse or needing to go to the bathroom, it was already 10 am before anyone else had came in the room. Officer Morgan knocked on the door, slightly pushing it ajar. "Good morning Ms. Costello he says standing beside the door looking at me then noticing Spooky who asleep on the other side of the bed.
"I'm just here to ask you some quick questions," he says his eyes drifting back to spooky then to me. "So from what you can remember what happened?" He asks and I sigh pushing my hair out of my face. "I don't know a stray bullet I didn't see from where." I say knowing it would hurt like hell to shrug at him. "And how did you end up
here in Compton?" He asks casually, knowing I didn't have the answers to all his questions.
"I was out walking, is that all?" I ask wishing he would leave before spooky wakes up. "Yeah that's all for now, if you can think of anything else be sure to tell me." He says turning out the doorway waking up spooky as the door shut. "What was that." He asks sitting up rubbing his hand over his face while yawning.
"Nurse." I say looking down at myself wondering how long it will be before I get a noticeable bump. Oscar nods stretching his arms before standing up.
"I'll be right back, I'm gonna grab us some good breakfast." Spooky says walking around the bed kissing my temple before walking out, holding the door for my nurse to walk in. "Hi Alyćia, I'm here to ask if you want any further tests on your pregnancy or if you have any questions." She says smiling at me.
"I know I'm not to far along, maybe four weeks now." I say thinking about the first time spooky and I had sex. "You know it's not too late if you want to change your mind." She says softly giving me a new warm blanket and pillow. "Thank you but I'm going to keep it." I say and she smiles and me
Putting on a pair of gloves unwrapping my shoulder to check my injury. "There's no new blood, no skin discoloration other than some slight bruising." She says getting new a wrap cleaning my stitches covering my arm back up.
"I'll try to get you out of here some time today, it might be late but if you're doing this good we shouldn't have to keep you." She says taking her gloves off putting them into the trash as Oscar comes back with some breakfast and drinks. The nurse leaves after helping Spooky bringing me a bed table to sit my food on. "I wasn't sure what you'd want, so I got you a few things." Spooky says sitting down and ice horchata coffee, while pulling food from the bag, starting with some oversized cinnamon rolls, then a plastic container of Chilaquiles and some plastic forks.
