stop, Stemleaf!

. . .

So let me get this straight, I had nothing against him directly telling Bristlefrost that he wasn't interested in that way and not beating around the bush and falsely leading her on. It forced her into "getting over it" mode right off the bat. In fact, my drama & rejection loving self would've loved it if he was more harsh than apologetic (like maybe "eww that's disgusting- you're so young go focus on warrior life instead of your mating life")

[I'm weird lol AND II DO LOVE BRISTLEFROST but still, "iM sO sORRy bRisTLefRoST"?!?!?!?! I mean at least he got his point clear since she clearly wanted THAT mate life instead of just a friendship or siblinghood like I do whenever I like somebody as an aRoaCe (i bAsiCaLLy dOnT uNdeRsTaNd reLaTioNsHip sTuFF sO SORRY iF i cOmE oFF aS cALLoUs **affecting anybody who can relate with the character i bash** wHeNeVeR i juDGe caTs aMiD reLaTioNsHipS**]

But Stemleaf did it however he wanted it done and I'm not interfering or complaining. +At least Bristlefrost asked in private (so no clan pressure or evident humiliation was on either of them) because no one else would've known about the incident unless they were informed.

What I did have a problem with^^ was that Stemleaf told Spotfur about it (as I figured out in the "sPoTfuR's reBeLLioN" novella). He even did it under such a "I'm so guilty and sorrowful" way that would've drawn pity out of Spotfur and most readers (except i wasn't even his fault; he was honest and didn't need to force anything upon himself so he had NO REASON TO BE SORRY *smirk* unless he wanted something to tell Spotfur).

Reading the broken code, I've always wanted to know whether Stemleaf told Spotfur about it (especially while Bristlefrost was moping around with the entire clan to see), and I got the confirmation from the stupid novella -__________-

Like Stemleaf had no right to tell anyone; only Bristlefrost did as the one on the side of the embarrassment (so it's fine that Rosepetal was informed). He even did it to jumpstart his confession to Spotfur; like WIMP you could've confessed any other time but you instead used a reason like this for a starter (and possibly the condolences it brought on)

LIKE THERE WAS A REASON BRISTLEFROST CONFESSED IN PRIVATE AND THE NEW FROSTY WARRIOR WAS EVEN EMBARRASSED WHEN RUNNING TO A RANDOM NEST AND WHEN FILLING ROSEPETAL IN~ IF STEMLEAF (ONLY) KNOWING WAS ALREADY EMBARRASSING, HOW'S BOTH THE tWo LOVE BIRDS KNOWING (sTeMLeAf & sPoTFuR) AND USING BRISTLEFROST'S OWN CHAGRIN TO CATALYZE THEIR GETTING TOGETHER (hopefully they told no one else)

Like I said, Stemleaf should've felt no responsibility and he'd handled the situation decently well. So how dare he see telling Spotfur as "lifting a burden off his shoulders" (at least to me [maybe not others] it seemed more like that type of confiding instead of just mutual chatting/sharing tongues). Honestly if he'd done it as a bad cat to gossip and slander Bristlefrost, I would've giggled and yipped as a petty reader (but still felt bad for Bristlefrost) but NO-NUH-UH- he literally passed it onto Spotfur LIKE THAT- He even did it as if he was unsure he was a good cat after it all, but Spotfur's affectionate perspective would've definitely seen him as a good cat

Spotfur's rebellion added a whole new perspective on the sTeM x sPoT ship (still giving no initial reason though *which is fine*). In the broken code, it seemed like Stemleaf was the first one to crush (especially since he seemed to be looking at Spotfur from afar when stating to Bristlefrost that his heart was taken already), but the tables turn in Spotfur's rebellion and the she-cat seems like the first one. "mAyBe we'LL bE mATeS sOmEdAy" yEaH that was insight for why Bristlefrost suddenly noticed them growing close when they hadn't before AND HER SPIRIT & EGO WAS INVOLVED

I liked Bristlefrost a lot. It's a shame they added such a cliche crushing thing between an apprentice and a warrior for her. (I didn't begin liking Bristlefrost until after she'd been a warrior for a decent amount of time, so I'd always been aware of that shortcoming). I like the bRiSTLe x rOoT ship more (but the starter REASON was still cliche) even though the progression had it's misgivings. At least she had the sense not to confess to Stemleaf before her warrior naming ceremony (even though it was definitely because she wanted to be on the same level for a chance because apprentices don't date/mate LOL and not for the security) or else her motivation would've TANKED at the wrong time.

One thing I had a problem with in the novella was ("what in the roleplay" ) was Stemleaf's blunt suggestion to be mates. "I want you to be my mate" seemed sOoOoo random and the reason was to heLp eAcH oTHeR through the imminent hard times of the clans (so that bothered me). Even though Stemleaf already knew that it was muTuAL between them and Spotfur agreed, I got immediate bad vibes from the sudden scene. (SO THAT WAS THE FINAL DEAL hUh) (DEF BIASED HERE- DEF BIASED IN EVERY RANT-)

**ADDING ON RANDOMNESS**

Also, Spotfur's novella proves that Squirrelflight and Alderheart (who healed Puddleshine with the deathberries) had agreed to Shadowsight's (as a PAW') proposal to heal Bramblestar. Their reason was that there was no other choice/hope for the Thunderclan leader. Even when they initially thought Bramblestar was dead (when it took a LONG time for the imposter to take over the body), Jayfeather was all like "wHy diD yOu LeT sHaDoWpAw kiLL bRaMBLeSTaR" (so while he was blaming Shadowpaw, he wasn't blaming him alone because the rest of Thunderclan had been the one to help carry Shadowsight's idea out) (SO LIONBLAZE NEEDS TO GET THAT IN HIS HEAD EVERYTIME HE ATTACKS SHADOWSIGHT, JAYFEATHER NEEDS TO TELL HIS BROTHER THAT HE HADN'T TRIED TO INITIALLY STOP THEM WHEN FROSTING BRAMBLESTAR AT THE MOOR)

Shadowsight did not have to be forced into feeling sorry "i should've ignored Ashfur's voice" because if Ashfur had been hypothetically right (LiKe aCTuaLLy hOnEsT aNd noT dUpLiCiToUs) during Shadowsight's dismissal, his later regret would've been "I should've listened to what I was told and it's all on me because I was the only one reached out to aNd hE tRuSTeD mEeEeEe"
