Mike stared lovingly at his girlfriend's eyes. He was in love with El ever since he could remember, and he enjoyed spending his time with her.

He, of course, missed his friends, but he knew they had each other. So they really didn't need him.

But El did and always would. So he stayed by her side, at all times. She needed him, and he needed her.

Something deep inside told him to go check on them though, maybe they missed him.

"Hey El, how about we go talk to the party, huh? Its been a while, and maybe we should go see them?" Mike looked at El, who was staring at her feet.

"But Mike, we're about to go inside, dont you think we wont have time?"

Mike laughed at El's comment. "Thats why we need to hurry. Come on!" He pulled her hand to go talk with the boys.

Dustin whispered to the gang. "Look who's finally coming by to say hello."

As Mike came closer, he noticed that Will was staring at him. It made him feel flustered, but why?

Once he and El got there, everyone looked at him. Well, everyone except Will. He had turned around, as he couldn't stare at Mike anymore.

"H-Hey guys. It been a while-" Mike started off before getting interrupted by Dustin.

"A month and two days, to be exact. What do you want?" The whole gang started at him with serious expressions.

Before Mike could talk, the bell rang, causing them to jump up. Everyone got up to leave, except for Will, as he was gathering his art supplies.

El looked at Mike before leaving, so he could talk to Will. El was always so considerate.

Mike leaned down to help Will pick things up. As he was about to pick up a small canvas, Will's hand got there first, making Mike touch Will's hand. It took them a while to realize what happened, but once they did, they blushed.

"I'm so sorry Will. For that and for being so distant for the past month. Its just i needed some time for me and El." Mike looked at Will, but Will was ignoring him.

"Yea sure whatever. It doesn't matter anyways." Will looked at Mike and then back at his things.

Mike looked disappointed. In himself. Sure, he loved El, but what was he doing? He had been acting like a brat, just to keep his girlfriend happy.

"You know what, I think El can be one day without me. How about the gang gets together to play D&D and remember the good times later at my house? Does that sound good?"

Will's eyes lit up to his words. He couldn't remember the last time he had played D&D. "Yes Mike, I'll try to convince the party. But what about El? How will she feel?"

Mike sighed. "She will still be there. And she enjoys seeing Max, so everything would work out. Just... try to make them come. I know I've messed up several times, but that's why we need to see each other again. To fix our mistakes"

Will felt so happy and was about to speak, until he heard the tardy bell ring. They both ran inside their classes, which to Will's disappointment, weren't the same.

     "Will Byers, thats a tardy."

School lasted forever. It was the last class of the day, and Will couldn't help but look at the clock. Once the bell rang, he rushed off to Dustin and Lucas, who were seemingly upset.

"Why would you agree on it so easily!" Dustin was fuming with rage. "He ignored us for a month and two days. A month. And two days." He said while showing Will the numbers with his hand.

Lucas rolled his eyes before replying. "Its Mike you guys. He didnt see El for 353 days and he still loves her."

"But at least he tried contacting her! He ignored us! His best friends!"  As Dustin began to argue with Lucas, Max wanted to explode.

"Stop you guys! You all care for each other, so its alright! Jeez..." Max sighed before getting on her skateboard. "I'll be there." And she left.

"So will I." Lucas then took of towards his house.

Dustin looked at Will, who had tried to be invisible in this conversation. "Come on Will, you have to agree with me, right?"

Will didnt want to talk. He was too scared to talk. If he said something wrong, there was a chance Dustin wouldn't talk to him. Then he would be alone. Again.

"Will? Earth to Will, wake up from wonderland!"  Dustin waved his hand in front of Will, who had paused in the middle of their walk. He then decided to do what's best for Dustin and Mike's relationship.

"Dustin, Mike... he told me that he knew you would be mad, taking the fact you were always besides him. He feels guilty, but he wants to hang out with us, like the good friends we were. So can you please give Mike at least one more chance?"

Dustin looked at Will, touched by his words. "I'll see"

As Dustin rode away on his bike, Will did a little happy dance. His friend group would finally be reunited.

Once Will got there, he realized he was the only one dressed up as his character. He sat awkwardly in the only end of the board that was not taken.

While Max and El had forgiven each other easily and were now on Mike's couch eating ice cream and gossiping, the party was a bit tense. Everyone seemed to know each other, but at the same time they didn't. Will knew the worst part of his day would be the upcoming fight between Dustin and Mike, which both Lucas and Will could feel.

The truth was, there would be worse things happening on that quiet evening.

The next chapter is going to have some drama, so get ready.
