It had been 3 weeks, three weeks since Vecna had contacted him. And he had no evidence. No proof against El.

Will would be doomed. He had to have something. Or else he would meet his end. And that was not an option for Will.

But Mike... Mike nothing. Mike was not important at the moment. No matter how much Will loved Mike, Mike could not save him. Only Vecna could. His life relied on him.

Will cried, looking everywhere, for an option. An alternative. But he couldnt do anything at all. He was doomed unless he found out a weakness.

Just then, he heard a scream. But not of fear; no, it was anger, frustration. Why, Will had no idea. He ran to the room to find just what he needed; El was crying on the ground.

"El, are you okay?" Will was in fact worried for his sister, but also curious. El always got frustrated at random things, even sometimes she cried. But today was different. She seemed not only frustrated, but also afraid. In despair.

"I cant-" El sobbed. "I cant stop it, stop him. I cant. I cant. I cant. I cant!" El's sobbing grew louder, breaking Will's heart. But no, Will could not be distracted this way. He couldnt.

"Tell me whats wrong" Yes, tell me darling. Tell me what troubles you. What scares you. What weakens you. Just do it. Will opened his eyes in fear, as he heard the voice. The same gruffy voice he heard that day. Vecna.

"I- look at me. Look what he's done. Im an even bigger monster!" El looked troubled, but why? No matter how hard he looked, Will could not find a reason El would find herself a "bigger moster".

Then he saw it. It was a squirell, a dead one. It had clearly exploded, for a reason unknown to Will. But El... had El done this? Had El killed this innocent animal. If so, how many others.

"Who did this to you?!" Will's panic rose as he say El's once brown eyes a shade of green, evil green. And she had clearly gotten paler, no doubt. But how, why, when? How did Will miss this? Am i going insane?

El looked around, before whispering a name that froze his heartbeat. "Henry. Henry  did it."

Eddie sat in Harrington's room, as he and "the gang" (as Dustin called them) had a whole talk.

"So, now the Upside Down should be something completely irrelevant. We should never get any trouble again." Dustin ranted on. "We know its just an alternative world. And if im correct, the worst thing that can happen is getting killed by the Mind Flayer. But El stopped it, so we're all good."

As new as it was to Eddie, there was something missing in all of this information. "How does the Mind Flayer exactly... kill?"

Max burst out laughing. "Why do you care?" But Dustin saved the day. "The Mind Flayer comes as a shadow or like an organism, either way, its visible when it stabs its victims."

Stabs. Visible. The thing that killed... Chrissy, it wasnt visible. And it didnt stab her, it broke her: literally. Eddie turned pale at the realization.

"The Mind Flayer... didnt kill Chrissy. Something else did. Her bones..." Silence. "Her bones snapped. But there was nothing, no one." Eddie stared at the group, who seemed as pale as him.

"So what you're saying is that the Mind Flayer is not the only evil creep down there?" Steve chuckled, trying to cover his fear with pride. Trying to make it seem like he didnt believe; like if he didnt care. But everyone could sense his fear. The fear they all shared.

They stared at each other, before they broke down. Max, the worst of all, collapsed on the floor crying. Everyone comforted her, trying to keep calm. But it was clear, the war was not over.

             It had just started.

Will sat down, seeing Mike play the guitar. El had stayed in her room all day, not coming out. Will didnt judge her; he would have stayed there too. But he had to tell Vecna. His life depended on it. But why was it so hard to do it?

Because it was his sister. El and him. As it should be. El had helped him over the years, he couldnt do this to her.

You have to. He thought to himself. Maybe then his life would be saved overall. He could be safe, free, at last. He could be happy, with Mike. But it would cost him El's life.

He walked up into the mirror. His footsteps felt heavy, and something, his good side, told him to stop. His common sense.

But an organism would do anything in its power to survive. Anything.

He walked up to the bathroom mirror, turning off the lights and lighting up his candle. He sat down on the floor. There was nothing else to do, but wait.

"Vecna. Im ready." Will whispered, closing his eyes. The candle went out, a new, chilling feeling overtaking the room and Will himself.  The ground changed, and so did the consistency of the air. And Will was back in the Upside Down.

He got up, and walked around. He screamed Vecna's name. He looked around. No sign of his ally.

Just then, Vecna appeared. "Kid, I told you to not disturb me unless you have... do you have anything new on El?"

Silence. "Yes. She's going through... a lot. Something, her powers, she cant control them anymore."

Vecna smiled. "So she's weak, huh."

Will sighed, looking around. Yes, it that what you wanted to hear? Well now you have it. Please, leave me alone."

Vecna looked into the distance. " As you wish."

Everything clouded up, and Will heard a screaming into his ears. A familiar voice, calling his name. He looked around once again and found the person who screamed into his ears.

"Will." Mike mumbled. " What was that? Vecna, like the DnD character? And like the person who hurt El? You, you told him-" Mike backed away.

"Mike, its not how it looks like- I had too!" Will tried breathing, tears forming in his eyes. Not this again.

"You betrayed El. You betrayed me." Mike looked at Will for a whole second before walking away. No, running away.

Will sat on the cold ground, feeling his frozen fingertips. Longing a hug, someone, to comfort him. To understand him.

But that wasnt happening anytime soon.
