    The urge.

The urge to turn back. To find the voice. After all, he deserved it, right?

     Will Byers deserves happiness.

But seeing the state El was in, he couldn't leave her. She was dying.

When Will and Jonathan came back, everyone was freaking out. El had apparently mumbled something.

"What was it?" Will looked around nervously, still unsure about if anyone had heard him earlier.

"I-I don't know! It was a, a name!" Mike looked at Nancy, Max, then Melissa with a wild expression. Yet Melissa stared at Will.

The boy seemed to be, nervous. Or scared. Maybe both. But something was clearly wrong. The thing that got her was that no one noticed.

"Hey Will, can I- uhm, talk to you? In private?" Melissa asked, biting her lip nervously. Don't mess it up.

Will nodded quickly, while staring at Mike for approval. Mike just looked at the girl with such an expression...was it jealousy?

Shit. Will started digging his nails into his skin anxiously as he walked into the forest yet again.

"W-What's the matter?" Stop stuttering. She's going to find out.

"Are you okay, Will? You seem...off. And no one has noticed. But I'm here if you need anything." She gave him a smile which quickly lightened his mood.

"I'm alright! Just...getting memories. From when I was last here." He smiled awkwardly. He hated talking to girls by himself. Mike would always help him do it.

       But Mike didn't care anymore.

"Oh. It must have been horrible. Does this happen often?" She couldn't relate. Before this week, her most traumatizing experience was a prank someone did to her. She wondered what other secrets she missed about Hawkins.

"No, not really. It happened when i was only twelve." It gave him goosebumps just to think about it.

Suddenly, Melissa leaned in towards him. A bit too close for his liking.

"You know, I never thought you were a weird kid. I always found you...amazing." No. Stop. He didn't want her to keep talking.

"And everyone thought I was joking. But you were different...special." Stop. Stop. The whole world was now collapsing on him.

"Its funny to say, but I've always admired you, Byers." Why, why him? He knew what was coming, but yet it hit him like a million bricks.

"I think I love you, Will Byers."

Will let that sink in. She loves me. Yet she wasn't the person he wanted. But still, someone cared for him. And he was about to push her away.

The dread slowly took over his body. "You can't love me."

"W-Why not?" She looked at him, confused. Oh she had no idea.

"Nobody loves me. I-Its a joke, right? Max made you do it, right?" He started to freak out. Even if she wasn't his...type, if she was he wouldn't believe her. Why him? What's so special that all girls except that one person he wanted could see?

"I-I love you! If you don't, t-that's okay!" She looked like she was about to burst.

Its all my fault. I'm breaking her heart. I'm such a horrible person, and a horrible friend. And I hate that.
