Will looked at Mike's smile. He was happy to see everyone back together.

"Roll the dice. Will? Should we attack or retreat? Will?" Lucas and Dustin both tried to get Will out of his trance.

Meanwhile, El and Max spoke with each other, while Max braided El's hair.

"So, El, how has your relationship with Mike been so far?" El looked at her friend.

"I-I don't know. Its missing something."

Max stopped braiding her hair. "Missing something? Like what? I thought you and Mike loved each other..."

El sighed, grabbing another chip and popping it inside her mouth. "Its just... i feel he doesn't trust me. And it hurts. I'm scared he will realize the only thing special about me are my powers. Then he would find someone else."

Max looked at El, dumbfounded. "El! You're amazing. You're sweet, kind, and an amazing friend. Not taking the fact of how beautiful you are."

El was speechless after what Max said. Once she got the courage to speak, she said "Do you really think-" She was interrupted by the sound of an explosion, or something like that, but smaller.

Lucas and the boys jumped up. "What happened? Did y'all hear that?" Lucas said in horror.

The kids were so confused on what had happened, until Will slowly touched his neck, in fear that his assumptions were true.

Mike looked at Will. "Hey Will, what's wrong?"

Will looked around, in fear. "Guys, he's, he's here."

Everyone looked at each other. "Who, Will? Who's here?" Dustin said, looking terrified.

"Demodogs. About three." Will then got closer to the door, gently touching it.

"But- I could swear we killed them all. Right Mike?" Lucas looked at his friend, who nodded in unison.

"That only worked because El closed the portal, but when the Russians opened another portal, there is a chance they might have accidentally opened up other portals as well. Kind of like a chain reaction." Dustin looked at everyone. They knew what they had to do.

Everyone started barricading the door, moving the couch, chairs, anything they could find, in front of there. Everyone was scared, especially El. She was breathing heavily, and had a horrible feeling of who was behind it all.

"Papa."

Everyone turned around, looking at El in confusion. Mike held her hand tightly. "What do you mean, El? He's dead, remember?"

El looked at Mike's dark chocolate eyes. He was her comfort. "You're right. It couldn't be him." Everyone then started to look for weapons. A bat, Lucas's slingshot, even a rake. Anything they could use as protection.

"Where's your sister when we need her?" Dustin looked at Mike.

"She's on a date with Jonathan." Mike barely took attention to him as he looked for a weapon.

"Ugh, she's so unreliable." Dustin rolled his eyes. Mike dropped the stick he was holding in his hand as he walked furiously to Dustin.

"Oh, but where's your babysitter, Steve, huh? I dont see him anywhere." Mike smirked at Dustin, before Dustin got closer to him.

"Well at least he cares about me." Mike looked at Dustin with a hurt expression, which only lasted a minute before he was furious again.

"Guys! Guys!" It was Will. "I know you have your differences at the moment, but can you please keep that for later?!" It was so bold of him to say that, at least for Will, which made the boys both back down.

Max joined the conversation. "How about you contact your sister while Dustin gets Steve? We need as much help as possible."

Mike and Dustin nodded at each other before dialing the numbers, while Eleven sat down with a bat, thinking. If it comes down to me or them, I have to save them. No matter what. She dreaded the thought of going back into the lab, where she was treated like an experiment.

She lowered her head, softly crying. She had to do it, even if she didn't want to.

Max saw El crying. She slowly approached her and gave her a hug. She hated to see El cry, especially after knowing what she had gone through.

Will, on the other hand, was terrified. Apparently, the gang had faced these monsters not too long ago, so they had some experience. Not only did Will not know how to really fight against them, but he was also scared that he might still have a connection to them.

Sure, the mind flayer had left his body years ago, but this time it felt like it was all coming back. He felt trapped again, like when he was trapped in the upside down. He knew something bad was going to happen that night.

Dustin looked at everyone. "Alright, so Steve, Robin and Melissa are on their way." He said, rather satisfied that help was on the way. They could hear the demodogs scratching on the door, desperately trying to come in.

Mike spoke. "So are Nancy and Jonathan. There should be enough help to defeat them, we just have to keep calm."

Everyone seemed glad that there were more people coming, but Will seemed confused. "Um. Dustin. Why is Melissa coming?"

Dustin laughed. "I thought you knew. Melissa and Steve are cousins."

"Oh" was the only response Will could give. He didn't want Mel to get attached to him. He didn't want to hurt her feelings with the truth.

Mike looked at El, who was clearly stressing out. "Hey, can I talk to you?" He said, holding her hand and taking her away from the group.

"Y-Yes Mike?" El was practically sobbing.

Mike hugged her tightly as she sobbed, her face buried in his chest. "Shh, its okay. Now can you please tell me what's wrong?"

El looked at the floor. "It's just... everything is my fault. Because of me, there's a chance we could all die! If you had never met me, or taken me in, none of this would've happened!"

Mike looked at her, hurting for her. "What are you talking about, El? Who told you this?"

El looked at Mike, clearly mad. "Oh, so you think I cant come up with my own conclusions, huh? You really think im stupid?"

Mike scoffed. "No El! I think you're amazing! We love each other!"

El paused for a minute. "Do we though? Can you even say it? You don't trust me Mike, its so obvious!" El was crying, holding her tears in.

Mike looked down. "I do El. I care about you. You don't understand how special you are to me!"

El looked at Mike in doubt. "Say it then. Say I love you."

Mike held Eleven's hands before she pulled away. "I know i haven't been so honest lately, but I truly-"

A sound of a car hitting something interrupted their conversation. "It must be Nancy or Steve" Eleven said before leaving.

Mike sighed, going after her. Once they saw what was happening outside, they realized it was complete chaos.

It wasn't only 3 demodogs. Instead, there were 30.

Ah yes, finally published again. I hope y'all like this and the next chapter is gonna have some drama too. 👀
