Max and Melissa struggled to take the vines off the girl.

"Oh El!" Max yelled as she hugged the unconscious girl tightly. Melissa touched the girl's hand, trying to feel a pulse. She felt her neck.

"She's alive. But her heart is beating slowly. She needs help, or she wont survive."

Max cried as she hugged El. They couldn't take her back. They were lost.

"No, we cant go back. We dont know how. But we have to be able to find our way to a house. Any!" Max choked out a sob.

Melissa thought of any place. A house, to keep her safe.

"Voila! The Byers' house. How did we not think of that. Its just crossing the forest." Melissa chuckled, trying to clear the atmosphere. But Max was still serious.

"Lets go." She tried carrying El, but struggled. At the end, both girls took the limp and almost lifeless body of the girl.

Mike felt like he was choking, Not just because of the air. Even though it played a huge factor. But because he wanted to cry.

Nancy, Jonathan, Will and him walked through the Upside Down. All of them had a previous experience here, except him.

He turned to see Will, who was breathing heavily. Maybe he was tired? No, he seemed nervous. But if he was worried, he would tell us? Right? Right?

Mike sensed that Will was hiding a lot of things. But that kiss.

That kiss. It was magical. Beautiful. Perfect.

No, stop. You like girls, and girls only. Not guys.

Even though he supported queer people, he found it strange for him to be one. It just couldn't be.

What would people thing of me? His dad would be disgusted. His mother disappointed. Nancy, he had no idea.

Maybe she would judge him. Maybe not.

Whatever the case, he couldn't feel anything for that kiss. But it was hard to forget it. Especially when Will was holding his hand.

He felt Will squeeze his hand tightly, and Mike couldn't help but blush. Will is scared, that's all.

But then why would he hold his hand? And not Jonathan's?

On his other hand, Mike held El's hoodie. He would find her. And he would return the hoodie to her.

He held both things tightly. He cared deeply for both.

Stop comparing Will to El. She's your girlfriend, and he's just a friend. His best friend.

He wished that he could keep them both forever, love them dearly. It would be lovely. But he had to choose.

Wait, no! You're not gay. So you don't have to choose. El is the only option.

    Yet that disappointed him.

He let go of Will's hand as he saw what was in front of him. It was Max, and another girl. The one related to Steve. Marissa, was it?

He realized they were carrying a body. Another girl. Their age. Then he finally understood. They were carrying El. Her lifeless body.

"No... this isn't real! That's not El! It cant be!" For the first time, he wishes he was wrong. About the whole thing. He wishes El was actually in the lab, not here, dead.

He ran to Max, seeing it was in fact, El. He started to sob. Everything, he was too late.

At least her suffering was over. She had went through a lot. But still. This wasn't how she was supposed to die. Not by herself, suffering.

She was supposed to die besides him, happy and old. Or at least at the age of 40. But not 14. This wasn't right. This couldn't be.

He heard Max crying as well. He couldn't save her.

"She's not dead yet. You can still save her. But she needs to go to a hospital, right now. Or at least the surface.

Mike held her close, crying. "I'm sorry El. I promise, we will save you."

     Will.

He heard a voice call his name.

   Will. Come home. Join us.

He stared at Mike. How he hugged El, he loved her.

Will felt his heart break to a million pieces. He wished to be El for at least a day. Just one. Then he would be happy.

But Will would always be second place. Forever. And he hated that.

He heard the same voice call him. A dark, grim voice. It was coming from the forest.

No one will mind if I go, right? They barely even notice I'm here.

He approached the forest. Like he suspected, no one noticed that he left. Wonderful.

He felt the sweat travel from his forehead to cover his face. The voice got louder, more powerful.

Join us, Will. Then Mike can be yours. All yours. Not El's, not anyone else's, yours. He will adore you, treasure you, love you.

Will felt like he was in a trance. Mike being his, that's a dream come true. But dreams have prices. He wondered what the price for this was.

"What do you want from me?! What do you want me to do?! Who are you?!" Will tried to scream it, but with his voice cracks it was impossible.

I am a friend of yours. We will help each other. Help me, find a way to go to the surface. Free us, and join us. You know your reward, what are you waiting for?

"What about El? He loves her!" The deal made sense, except Mike loved El.

El is no matter, I will deal with her myself. Anyways, she isn't the most powerful at the moment. Then when she is no more, Mike will be all yours.

"No! You can't hurt El!" Ever since Hopper and Joyce had begun to date, El felt like a part of the family. No matter how much he envied her, her happiness was one of his priorities. "Maybe you can find her another boyfriend?"

The voice chuckled, a dark, evil, chuckle that it brought shivers all across his body.

I told you what is going to happen. I am going to kill Eleven. You either help me, and at least benefit from her death, or I will do it myself.

Will felt a knot in his stomach. He felt sick. He would be evil if he tried to kill El, but then again, life had always been cruel to him.

"I-" Just then, he heard a tap on his shoulder.

"Are you okay? We were looking for you." It was Jonathan. Will looked at the trees, disappointed. The voice was gone.

"I think I'm fine." They both walked back to the team.

We will be waiting for your response, Byers. Think about it.

And the more he thought about it, the more he felt he should do it.
