Mr. Chen decided that the stage under Cinderella's Castle was a good place to use the Charm; he also admitted that he simply liked being up there and rarely had a reason to. The kids weren't about to disagree. They both loved the view of Main Street, USA they had from the stage.
"Before we begin," Mr. Chen told the group, "there are a few things I need to say." His audience consisted only of the kids, the characters, Izumi, Enrico, and Fatima (Thomas was busy handing Daniels over to the police; he later told the kids that he'd been arrested on charges of breaking and entering, theft, and assault). Still, they all listened attentively.
"Red and Marty," he addressed the kids, "you two have done a great service to the park. While you did break several rules..." He gave the two a playful but still stern glare. "...you have helped us escape a dangerous situation, and deserve to be rewarded. So, I feel it only fair that we give you these." He pulled two small envelopes from his pockets, and handed one to each of the kids.
Red's face lit up when she opened her envelope. Marty was practically screaming. They had both been given free lifetime passes to Disney World! The two hugged each other while practically jumping for joy.
"You've earned it," Mr. Chen continued, "but due to you now knowing rather sensitive information about the park, you should know that you'll be under constant supervision whenever you come."
The kids nodded. "That's fair." Red admitted. After all, she'd had more than her fair share of Disney secrets.
"Now." Mr. Chen spoke again as he pulled the Charm from his pocket. "Who's ready to go home?"
"I am!" All of the characters shouted at once. They all looked at each other, as if trying to decide who should go first. Finally, Woody and Buzz walked up.
"We can't thank you enough for all you've done," the space ranger said to Red and Marty, "and it was an honor to fight by your side."
"But Andy needs us," Woody added, sounding apologetic, "and we need to get back to him."
"I know." Red nodded. Then smirked. "But first..."
Before the cowboy knew what was happening, she'd scooped him up in a hug. Buzz barely had time to react before Marty had him trapped in a hug, too. Both toys protested, but they couldn't hide their laughter. Red heard the others laughing, too.
Finally, the kids dropped the toys. The cowboy and space ranger took a second to regain their balance before they could walk normally.
Mr. Chen nodded at the toys, then held the Charm out in front of him. He had a look of utter concentration, and startled everyone when he began shouting. It sounded as though he was making his voice sound as powerful as he could.
"OPEN A PORTAL TO THE BEDROOM OF ANDY DAVIS, AND SEND HIS TOYS HOME!"
The air in front of him seemed to shiver. Then ripple. Then to tear apart. In less than a second, a circle of pure white light with a circumference of at least eight feet opened up.
Everyone took a step back, even the toys. But they only hesitated for a second. They looked at each other, nodded, then turned to the kids.
The kids knelt down so the toys could see them better. Red had known that she'd have to say goodbye eventually, but it still hurt. She held out a finger. Woody stepped up, took it in his hand, and shook it.
"You won't forget us, right?" She asked him.
"I promise, Red, that we will always be your friends."
"To infinity and beyond." Buzz promised as he shook her finger as well.
