"I can't believe this is going to be our last night working together, Pinky." I pouted, sadly mopping the floor of the store.

She just chuckled as she restocked some of the merchandise. "Dahyun, you act like you'll never see or hear from me again. You're so dramatic sometimes."

"Am not!" "Are too!" We both laughed as we continued our nightly duties.

"I'm really glad you took over my Monday shift and not Suzy."

"What's wrong with Suzy?" I questioned, feeling like I knew the answer but curious anyway.

"Nothing, she's just...lazy. And I worked hard to gain the loyalty and trust of the nightly customers and I just know she'd ruin it."

I nodded, completely understanding. Suzy is really great to be around, but she is the worst worker.

"Speaking of nightly customers." Pinky began, staring at the door to the store.

As I followed her gaze, I spotted Sana, Tzuyu, and Chaeyoung walking up to the building.

"Do not talk to her, Dahyun. I mean it." "Yes, mother." I teased, only earning a glare in return.

The bell soon rang, signaling that they had entered the store.

"Welcome in!" Pinky greeted, earning a smile from all three girls.

Chaeyoung's eyes searched the building until they landed on mine.

Her eyes were dark, clouded with something I couldn't figure out, while they also glistened with curiosity as she gazed back into mine.

I almost didn't realize I was staring until we were gazing at each for a good few moments.

Panicking, I pulled the mop bucket behind me and ran into the closet to hide.

I could hear her chuckle behind me, only causing my heart to race. Why is it racing?

While I sat in my own embarrassment, I could hear Sana question, "Pinky, do you have any more samanco in the back?" "I'll go check, hold on."

As Pinky walked towards the cooler, she stopped by the maintenance closet, peering inside to only laugh at me. "Come on, we're checking on ice cream status."

I followed her like a lost puppy, still really embarrassed that Chaeyoung caught me staring at her.

I wasn't staring for any other reason than I admire her. There's something about her that's alluring. Like she's someone that I could learn from.

"Dahyun, will you grab that box?" I nodded, taking hold of the box she requested before following her out of the cooler.

"Which flavor did you guys want? We have chocolate, red bean, and strawberry." The three girls each requested their desired flavors before thanking Pinky and I.

I smiled softly at the trio in response, refusing to meet the blonde's gaze.

As we all migrated towards the counter, Tzuyu finally diverted the conversation towards me.

"So, we hear that you're going to be the one running the show on Monday nights now."

I hummed, blushing due to being the center of attention.

"Well, we'll all be excited to see more of you. Right, girls? Chae?" The blonde elbowed Tzuyu before her attention was back on me.

Sana chuckled, shaking her head before speaking, "Ignore them."

I smiled at her, earning one in return.

She paid for the trio's ice creams while Tzuyu and Pinky discussed Japan, becoming engrossed in their conversation.

"Dahyun," Sana started, earning my full attention. "It'll be nice to get to know you."

"Likewise." She smiled warmly before turning around.

"Girls, it's about time we head home." Tzuyu nodded sadly, bidding Pinky goodbye and good luck.

Chaeyoung glanced at me once more before exiting the store.

Our eyes remained locked until she was out of the store, and once she was, Pinky smacked the back of my head to gain my attention.

"Ow! Bitch." I mumbled, rubbing the back of my now sore head.

"Don't stare, it's rude." "But I wa-" "She's trouble, Dahyun. Do not get involved."

Rolling my eyes, I decided to go back to mopping the floor.

Pinky groaned, "Dahyun, I just don't want to see you hurt."

"I know, Pink. But I don't even like her. So it's not like I'm going to try anything."

"I somehow don't believe you." She mumbled, just loud enough for me to hear her.

"I mean it, Pink. Yes, there's something about her that's alluring, but not in a romantic way."

"Yeah, okay, whatever you say." Sighing, I decided to just let her think that I had a thing for the mysterious blonde.

I don't have a thing for her, I don't even know her. I know nothing about her other than she's friends with gang members.

Which is something I would usually see as a sign to stay away from that person. But, with Chaeyoung, something seems different.

Sana and Tzuyu are so unbelievably nice, and even though the blonde hasn't spoken much since meeting her, she seems kind.

What is it about her, though, that draws me in?

What about Chaeyoung is so alluring? And am I going to get hurt trying to figure it out?
