"Kim Dahyun. Come here."

Stopping dead in my tracks, I sighed to myself before backing up and walking up to my mother.

She stopped washing the dishes to face me, that look of 'you've done fucked up' on her face. Great.

"Where were you last night?" "With a friend."

She raised her brow, her hand landing on her hip as she questioned, "What kind of friend keeps you out after midnight?"

"Mom, I'm going to be late, can we talk about this later?"

She glared at me, pointing her gloved finger at me. "This conversation is not over. And you better be home by curfew tonight."

Nodding, I placed a kiss on her cheek before running out of the room. "Bye, mom!"

As I exited the house, I got a text message from Pinky reading 'call me right now' and I just can't imagine this is going to be a pleasant conversation.

What did I do to deserve such an awful start to my day?

"Hello?" "You bitch."

Laughing, I nodded at the neighbors I passed on my way to work.

"What was that for, Pink?" "Oh, you know exactly what that was for. I'm not even gone two days and you're already causing trouble."

Furrowing my brows, I questioned, "Trouble? What are you talking about?"

Looking up at the sky, I pouted as it looked as if it might rain. I didn't grab my umbrella. This is going to suck.

Seriously, what did I do to deserve this?

"My parents just called me saying that your parents were questioning if I was still in town last night because you didn't come home until almost five o'clock in the fucking morning."

Damn, my parents are loudmouths. I mean, I'm not shocked, especially when it comes to Pinky and her family.

But still. Damn.

"Pink, calm down." "I will not calm down, Kim Dahyun. Who were you wi-" She cut herself off, silence filling the atmosphere.

The silence was making me nervous, almost as nervous as the angry tone Pinky had.

"You were with her, weren't you." "Who's 'her?'" I played dumb, knowing who she was referring to.

Pinky groaned, "Fucking Chaeyoung."

I rolled my eyes, mentally thanking myself that I was just around the corner from the convenience store. I can't wait for this conversation to be over.

"Maybe I was. But we were just talking, getting to know each other."

"Bullshit. I told you to stay away from her, Hyun."

Halting in my tracks, I sighed. "Pink, you can't tell me who I can and can't spend my time with. I am not a child. We were just talking, that's it. Nothing more. Period."

She clicked her tongue, and I knew at that moment, that I had fucked up.

"When you get hurt because of her, don't come crying to me." With that, she hung up.

Groaning, I shoved my phone into my pocket before walking the rest of the way to the store.

This is just going to be a shittastic day, I can already tell.

As I entered the store, I was shocked to see Sana, Tzuyu, Chaeyoung, and some other girl, all standing there making small talk with my manager.

"Oh, there she is!" Sana came rushing over to me, linking her arm with mine. I smiled awkwardly, not knowing what was happening.

"Dahyun here is always so kind to us whenever we come in. We're so happy you hired her, manager-nim." Manager-nim?

Mr. Kim smiled his bright eye smile, chuckling happily. "Yes, Dahyun's my most cherished worker. I'm so happy that she makes you all feel welcome in our store."

No, I'm not...What the hell is going on? Have I stepped into an alternate universe or something?

"Dahyun, I have left a few tasks for you tonight but nothing serious. I've got to get going. Have a good night girls!"

"Goodbye, manager-nim!" All four of the girls bid him goodbye, while I only waved at him in confusion.

As soon as he was out of sight, Sana pulled me closer to the group. "Dahyun, are you having a good day?"

I shook my head softly, furrowing my brows in confusion. "What's going on? You guys are acting...weird."

Tzuyu smiled warmly, taking hold of my hand. "We just thought we'd keep you company tonight."

"I mean, sure. If you want." I looked between all of the girls, noticing how the new girl in the group kept looking me up and down.

I have to admit, she is rather cute. But I'm also not used to people looking at me like that.

Glancing around the group, I noticed Chaeyoung was eyeing the girl, her brows furrowed in anger.

"How long are you guys planning on staying here?" I questioned as I broke away from the bunch to go check out a customer.

Smiling warmly at the girl, she mirrored my smile while handing me her items.

"Well, we don't have anywhere to be until nine and we don't really want to go home just to leave again." Tzuyu explained, the rest of the bunch nodding in agreement.

After handing the girl her receipt, I turned towards the girls once more. "Nine? That's-" "Six hours." The new girl commented, grinning.

"We can leave if you don't want us to stay, we totally understand, Dahyun." Tzuyu pouted, making puppy eyes.

God damnit, she's so adorable. "No, you can stay. I don't mind."

Taking one last look between the group, my eyes landed on Chaeyoung's as I headed towards the back to grab the supplies in order to clean.

This is going to be an interesting night, to say the least.
