I sat in the back of a black SUV while Soyeon drove to a random location.
Yuqi sat next to me while the rest of the gang sat in front of us.
A girl named Minnie sat in the passenger seat next to Soyeon while two girls, Shuhua and Miyeon, sat in front of Yuqi and I.
I'm honestly kind of scared.
Where are we going? Is it to see Pinky like Soyeon told me earlier?
Do I even want to see her? She seems to have betrayed me.
But I should probably hear her out before I assume the worst of her.
Or I can just hold a grudge against her, no questions asked.
Yuqi leaned in closer, trying to be as quiet as possible as she questioned, "Are you okay?"
Glancing at the blonde, I shook my head. "I'm terrified."
Her eyes softened but she didn't say anything else. She seems a little worried to speak too much around the other girls.
Miyeon and Shuhua turned around in their seats, smiling softly at me before Miyeon spoke, "There's nothing to be terrified of, love."
Looking between the girls, I could only nod. They do realize they kidnapped me, right?
"What are you scared of?" Shuhua inquired, all three girls now listening intently to what I could possibly respond with.
"I'm in a whole new country. With people I don't know. And I miss Chaeyoung." Hanging my head, my heart ached for the blonde. I hope she's okay.
"Who's Chaeyoung?" Yuqi questioned, resting her hand on my shoulder.
"My girlfriend." Looking up to meet their gazes, I saw nothing but sympathy, possibly sadness, for my situation.
The SUV pulled over to the side of the road, but when I looked out the window, I saw nothing but emptiness.
We can't possibly be at our destination. Unless this is my final destination.
Soyeon and Minnie turned around in their seats, everyone now facing the two.
Soyeon spoke first, instructing all of us to get out of the car.
We all followed suit, Soyeon standing all of us in an almost circle before she began to speak.
"Chaeyoung is your girlfriend?" She sounded surprised. I nodded in response.
Scratching her head, she glanced at Minnie before her eyes were back on me.
"Pinky is your best friend, right? Allegedly."
I nodded once again, furrowing my brows at her phrasing.
It seemed like the other girls understood the epiphany as they all sighed, turning to face the leader.
Yuqi spoke first, "We can't take her to Pinky."
Soyeon bit her lip, thinking for a moment. "Well, we can't not take her. She's waiting on us."
I raised my hand, all eyes focusing on me as I questioned, "Can I be let in on the conversation here."
Shuhua placed her hand on my shoulder, her eyes soft. "We think your friend hired us to bring you here to keep you from your girlfriend. But she never seemed to have good intentions. We didn't know why until now, but maybe she has a grudge against your girl."
Miyeon continued, "Maybe she's trying to lure your girlfriend here to get rid of her."
"It makes sense. Pinky does have a disinterest in Chae. Always has."
All eyes were on Minnie as she stated, "I have a plan."
-
The SUV pulled over in front of a large house. It almost looked like something out of a mafia movie.
"Alright, we're not leaving your side. Whatever she says, do not leave ours either."
I nodded, agreeing to Soyeon's commands.
Minnie sighed, looking distressed. "I don't have a good feeling about this."
The leader smiled gently, "Everything will be just fine, doll. And if not, I'm okay with a little bloodshed."
The six of us exited the vehicle before ascending up the stairs to the building.
Am I the only one that's concerned with her comment about blood?
As we were just a few steps from the door, it opened. Standing in the doorway was none other than Pinky.
She smiled at me, opening her arms wide as she requested a hug.
"Remember, pretend you don't know what she did." Yuqi's words echoed through my head as I ran up to her, engulfing her in a hug.
"I've missed you so much." She mumbled into my hair before letting me go.
"I've missed you, too." I confessed, inwardly wanting to slap her for tearing me away from Chaeyoung and the girls.
Pinky looked back at The Villains, her face going straight. "I'll talk to you guys before you leave."
Soyeon and the girls nodded, all of us entering the building.
I was walking a few feet behind Pinky, allowing Yuqi to come behind me and whisper, "When we say "it's over," duck."
Gulping, I nodded softly as we continued to trail behind Pinky.
The plan was for The Villains to get the payment for bringing me here and then turn on Pinky.
I don't really understand why I should duck if they say it's over, but I'm also not a gang member. I'm not used to encounters like this.
As we entered a giant room, reminiscent of a master bedroom from a drama, Pinky turned to face us, her eyes shining brightly as she spoke to me.
"Welcome to your new home, Hyun. I think you're really gonna love it here."
Soyeon stepped forward, her hands in her front pockets as she requested in a monotone voice, "Where's our money, Pinky."
Pinky turned to face the blonde, her eyes going cold. "It's over there on the desk."
We all glanced towards the desk, an envelope laying flat on the surface.
"You get it." Soyeon instructed me, nodding towards the envelope.
I started to advance toward the desk but was soon stopped by Pinky.
My eyes furrowed together as she turned to face me, "Why are you listening to her?"
Her tone was accusatory, almost as if she didn't trust me.
"She told me she'd watch me bleed at one point, I'm gonna do what she wants."
It wasn't a complete lie.
"What's the matter, Pinky? Don't trust us?" Soyeon questioned in a mocking tone, the rest of the girls standing beside her.
The group smirked, that look of murder back in their eyes.
"Do you feel as though we might betray you? As though Dahyun might turn the tables on you?"
Pinky turned to face me, a look of regret and disbelief on her face. "Hyun?" Her voice cracked, almost making me feel bad.
"You started it." I whispered.
"It's over." Minnie warned.
Bracing myself, I ducked, placing my hands on my head.
I heard a swoosh sound before a loud thud echoed throughout the room.
