All of the girls were trying their best to teach me everything they knew in a short span of time.
I was trying my best to follow along and retain all of the information, but it was a lot at once. This feels like a crash course and I'm not the best with those.
"Chae." Nayeon called out, stopping everyone in their tracks.
She nodded her head towards the door, signaling for me to follow her out.
"We'll continue in twenty, take a break everyone." Momo ordered, allowing everyone to take a breather.
As I followed Nayeon out of the room, she sighed softly before turning to face me. "How are you doing? Are you following any of this?"
She sounds like a worried mother, fearful her child isn't paying attention during dance class and might fail the finals.
Nodding, I gave her a small smile. "It's a lot, but I think I'm getting the hang of it all."
She nodded, "Okay, that's good."
"Has there been any word on Dahyun?" I questioned softly, earning a sympathetic look from the leader. "Not as of yet."
Hanging my head, I excused myself, telling Nayeon I was going to get some water.
As I was walking towards the kitchen, I bumped into Jeongyeon, who looked very excited.
She looked at me and then down the hall at Nayeon and then back at me before exclaiming, "We got a message."
Nayeon ran over, both of us crowding Jeongyeon's phone as Nayeon read the message aloud, "Dahyun is safe, she's staying with me."
"Who is this?" I questioned, wondering who this could possibly be.
Jeongyeon shrugged, "I'm not sure. They didn't sign and the number isn't in our system. I honestly don't even know how they got this number."
Tzuyu, Sana, and Momo all walked up to us, Tzuyu peering over Jeongyeon's shoulder to read the message.
Her brows furrowed in confusion as she pointed out, "Hey, that's Pinky's number."
"Pinky? As in Dahyun's best friend?"
Why the hell is Pinky texting us about Dahyun? And about how she's with her? She was kidnapped, she didn't go on vacation.
"Tzuyu, let's have you try to text Pinky from your phone. See if you can get any kind of answer as to why she knows where Dahyun is."
Nayeon rested her hand on my shoulder, that motherly look in her eyes once more.
"Let's get you back to training. We want you to be as prepared as possible."
Nodding, I followed Momo back to the training room.
-
"Any word from Pinky?" I questioned Tzuyu as I entered her room, smiling at Sana as they rested on her bed.
Tzuyu shook her head, letting out a sigh. "Not yet. Maybe she's just a slow texter."
Sana and I both shrugged. Maybe she is.
"Why do you think Pinky knows where Dahyun is? And why she said the word 'safe?'"
Looking at Sana, I realized she had a point. Why did Pinky use the word safe?
Did she say safe because she figured we were concerned about her whereabouts, or did she say safe because she has something to do with all of this?
"Both of you be quiet, I got a response."
"Why do we have to be quiet for a text?" Sana questioned Tzuyu, the latter just waving her off.
Tzuyu read the message out loud, only causing more confusion to arise. "Dahyun came to visit me, I just wanted to let you guys know she got here safe."
Sana stood up quickly, her face showcasing nothing but anger. "She has something to do with all of this."
Looking at Tzuyu, she just shrugged before standing up to follow Sana out of the room.
We both followed her to Nayeon's office. As we all three entered, Nayeon looked between us before asking, "Did she answer?"
"She's hiding something. She said that Dahyun went to visit her."
Nayeon nodded softly, her eyes meeting mine before she stated, "Guess we're going to have to go pay her a visit."
The three of us fell silent, wondering if she was serious.
"You want us to walk onto someone else's territory and demand our friend back?" Sana questioned, her tone weary.
Nayeon nodded, almost as if saying 'yes, obviously.'
"No offense, Nayeon, but that sounds absolutely insane. The Villains would laugh at us before they slaughtered us." Tzuyu countered, earning a chuckle from Nayeon.
"That may be so. But are we really going to sit here while they have Dahyun? They obviously don't plan on sending her back home."
Silence fell over the room before I stepped forward, earning everyone's attention. "Let's do it."
Nayeon grinned, gesturing towards me as she stated, "See, Chae has the right idea."
The door soon opened, Momo peaking her head in. "Sorry to interrupt, but I couldn't help but eavesdrop. Are we going to rescue Dahyun?"
"Yes." I stated, walking towards the raven haired girl. She only cheered in excitement before running off.
Opening the door wider, I turned around to face everyone, seeing their looks of wonder and concern.
"I want Dahyun back here, safe. If that means blood, so be it. But I'm not going to stand here while she's held hostage by her best friend."
Looking between Sana and Tzuyu, I decided to tell them the thoughts I'd been having these past few hours.
I've already made up my mind, so they might as well know my decision.
I can't be the reason Dahyun suffers.
"I want everyone doing everything they can to bring her back. I'm willing to sacrifice myself for her safety. If that means I don't make it, I want you guys to bring her back."
"Chae." Sana spoke softly, her voice wavering as my words set in. "You can't possibly be saying that you'd sacrifice your life for hers."
Gazing back into her fearful eyes, I nodded. "I would. And I will."
