Roger sighed in relief when the Freemakers reached Hyper-Space. They were finally safe from those weird-looking guys. Rowan seemed exhausted, and Naare did not. She flipped her red lightsaber back and forth, happy to see the weapon once again. Rowan, however, sat in the gunner position, almost falling asleep several times. When the Star Scavenger 2 reached an area of just space, and they were sure that the Knights of Ren would not find them, Kordi left the cockpit to speak to Rowan.
"Hey, you okay? You seem really tired." Kordi asked.
Rowan shook his head, waking up from being half asleep. "I'm fine! I uh...I'm fine."
"Will you tell Zander what's going on?"
"No, Kordi. Really, I'm fine."
Like before, Kordi gave a nod of defeat and left Rowan alone. Zander gave Kordi a look, and Kordi shrugged.
After some time of being alone, Rowan realized that he had to get back to work. He took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. He joined Kordi and Zander, as they brought up their holo-map. Naare eagerly peeked in the room, curious about Rowan's crystal-finding abilities.
"Hmm-" Rowan said, closing his eyes.
"You know what, guys?" Kordi said. "We're just gonna go to this planet."
The holo-map zoomed into a planet.
"Quarzite? There are a ton of crystals beneath the surface of that planet, maybe there are some kyber crystals." Zander realized.
"I don't-" Rowan began to say, but then Kordi covered his mouth.
Naare tilted her head, confused. Kordi must be trying to hide something. Why else would she have interrupted Rowan?
The Freemakers finally arrived at the planet called Quarzite. It was a purple-colored planet, but in front of it was an orbital space station. Zander landed the Star Scavenger 2 on the space station. Naare, Zander, Kordi, Rowan, and Roger walked through the empty space station. Everyone was picking up shady vibes. There were hot drinks left on tables and food that had a single bite taken from it. Rowan had his hand gripped tightly around his lightsaber, prepared to fight. The Freemakers finally reached the turbo lift that would take them below the surface of Quarzite. They cautiously walked into the lift, Roger entering last. However, the turbo lift was only really meant to fit 2 people, but there were 5 of them. It was an uncomfortable experience for everyone.
"There better be crystals on this planet." Naare groaned in annoyance.
"I don't-" Rowan began to speak when Kordi covered his mouth.
"Oh, there is! Just wait and see!"
Zander let out an awkward laugh. Naare and Roger looked at each other, unconvinced. Now Naare was sure that Kordi was hiding something. The turbo-lift halted to a stop, and the Freemakers fell face-first out of the lift, desperately trying to get some personal space. Rowan stood up and looked around him. His eyes widened. Bright purple-colored crystals on top of dark purple rock surrounded him. The caverns were misty, which gave it a mysterious feel. This feeling felt familiar to Rowan. He walked around the caverns, exploring, and forgetting all about his mission. As Kordi and Zander got to their feet, they also admired the beautiful crystalline caverns.
"I've never seen anything like this..." Kordi whispered in awe, following Rowan as he explored.
"Yeah..." Zander said, going with Kordi.
"Me neither!" Roger exclaimed, poking a crystal before running after Kordi and Zander.
Naare got up more slowly and looked around. The crystals were beautiful, she would admit. But Naare's focus wouldn't be broken so easily.
