"This is it folks," The announcer said seriously. "Will it be Maria Diaz, Miguel Diaz, or Hawk of Cobra Kai?" Lots and lots of cheers erupted through the entire arena, Maria had to feel proud. "Xander Stone of Topanga Karate?" More cheers, less than before however. "Blake Chambers of Krunch Karate?" Lots of cheers for her. "Or unaffiliated Robby Keene -" Someone runs on to the mats, a woman that whispers into the announcers ear. "Daniel LaRusso's going to coach? Daniel LaRusso's going to coach!" He yells. "I'm sorry, folks, there's a minor change, Robby Keene will now be fighting for Miyagi-Do karate with two time All Valley champion Daniel LaRusso as his sensei!" The announcer turns around, bowing to the finalists. "Good luck, ladies and gentlemen!'
Miguel goes against Xander first, knocking him out of the finals easily. Maria can't help but feel relieved, Xander was twice her size. Hawk goes against Robby next, winning at first, but then the blue haired boy gets disqualified for unsportsmanlike contact. He kicked Robby while his back was turned.
Half of Maria is angry at Hawk, because that was unsportsmanlike, but she's sure whatever Robby said to aggravate him was too. While there was a break because of Robby's injury, Maria followed an angry Hawk into the hallway.
"What was that about?" She asked him, trying to contain her anger. He faced the opposite wall as her, breathing heavily. "Hawk? Tell me what he said."
He turned around, furious. "You saw when I kicked him in his stomach?" Maria nods in reply, and she can see the angry tears in his eyes. "He said he'd . . . he said he'd do that to you."
Maria softened, stepping forward and wrapping her arms around him. He didn't hug her back, but she was okay with that. "Trust me, babe, he won't get the chance. As soon as I go against him, he'll be sorry."
"I shouldn't have kicked him like that," Hawk whispered into her shoulder, crying lightly. "I shouldn't have done that." He repeated.
Maria pulled away, cupping his face in her hands. "Hey, you made a mistake. It's okay, he'll live." She leaned upward and placed a soft kiss on his lips, biting his lower one as she pulled away. Though he was still crying, he was now giving her his best mischievous smile. She giggled and pushed him away. "Now, go clean up, don't you want to see me kick some ass?"
"Want to come with me?" Hawk winked at her, pulling her towards the locker rooms.
Maria laughed, pushing him away playfully again. "Go, you idiot."
Maria made it back out just in time, because it was time for her to go against Blake.
"Bow," The reff said, and both girls followed suit. "Fight!"
Maria struck first, going in for a punch to the face, but Blake blocked her, trying to hit Maria in the stomach. Maria grabbed her fist before it made contact and spun her around, flipping Blake over her shoulder.
The blonde girl landed with a thud, groaning as she got up. "Point, Maria Diaz." The reff said.
"Who's the whore now?" Maria growled at Blake's form that still laid on the ground.
She jumped back to her feet, and the two started round two. Maria went to kick Blake, but like her first match Blake grabbed her leg and yanked it upward, causing Maria to bang her head on the ground.
Despite the pain that rolled through her head, Maria started to roll over when Blake kicked her in the waist. Blake moved her foot to stomp onto Maria's abdomen, but the blue haired girl thought fast and grabbed her foot.
Maria twisted around Blake's ankle, and yanked her to the ground. The blonde girl didn't stay down for long though, she got up quickly. But in that split second where Blake wasn't focused as she got to her feet, Maria grabbed the blonde girls head and brought it down onto her knee.
