Maria sat with Aisha in lunch, awaiting her brother, her boyfriend, and Demetri's arrival from wherever they were coming from. The two girls had quickly grown on one another, becoming good friends. They laughed with one another, but they immediately stopped when someone placed their tray down at the end of their table.
"Oh, don't even think about." Aisha said to Sam LaRusso.
Maria had heard the rumors that Sam had given Kyler a blow job right in the middle of a movie theater, practically forcing it upon him. She didn't know what to believe, but part of her was happy that Sam was cut off from her friends. She was a bitch, just like the rest of that group.
"Come on," Sam lowered her voice as if she couldn't believe she was asking these kids if she could eat with them. "I need a place to sit."
"Go sit with Kyler," Aisha snapped. "I heard he doesn't mind that you suck."
Maria smirked at the double meaning but immediately stopped when Sam planted her tray down anyways. The blue eyed girl headed straight over to Kyler and tapped his shoulder.
"Think it's funny to spread lies about me?" Sam asked once he'd turned around.
"What do you mean?" Kyler inquired innocently. "We saw a movie. That's all. Well, maybe I saw a little more than you." The Asian boy smirked.
Maria clenched her fists under the table, even Sam didn't deserve this. No one did. No one deserved to be treated like crap by a guy you thought liked you. Sam stepped back and threw Kyler's food on the ground. The boy looked at her for a moment and then turned to the rest of the cafeteria, getting everyone's attention.
"Hey guys!" He calls out. "You know that billboard with the big-ass dick on it? Looks like Sam takes after her dad!"
Maria had to admit, that was a good one. But that didn't mean she hated Kyler any less. But that didn't mean she was on Sam's side. In fact, she preferred not go get involved.
"Hey Kyler!" Maria's twin finally decided to make an entrance, and of course it was dramatic. He aggressively placed down his lunch and approached the boy he'd called out. "Why don't you shut the hell up and stop being such an asshole?"
There were 'ooo's' all about the cafeteria, and Kyler, being the ego maniac that he is, didn't like it. "Want another beat down, 'Rhea?" He shoved the male Diaz twin. "I'm ready for your lame ass karate shit this time." He shoved Miguel again, harder than before, causing him to collide with Maria and Aisha's lunch table.
"Okay, listen here -" Maria felt an arm grab her and pull her back, and she came face to face with her boyfriend. "Let go, Eli." She commanded.
"I'm not letting you get in the middle of that fight." He says sternly.
"Eli, let me go." Maria says a little harsher.
"Promise me you won't get involved?"
"I don't have to promise you anything, but you have to let me go." Maria flung her arm from her grip and climbed back through the crowd of people that had formed.
Maria felt something weird inside her. Was that her and Eli's first fight as a couple? Did that even count as a fight? She regretted what she said, he wasn't hurting her, in fact he wanted to protect her. Maria was about to turn around when she finally got through the people.
Her twin was kicking some serious ass. He'd already taken down most of Kyler's goons, and Maria watched as Miguel hit the Asian boy hard in the face, sending him down permanently, and then climb on to the table.
There were cheers, and people had their phones out, recording the entire interaction. Counselor Blatt pulled Miguel off the table, but everyone continued to cheer. Almost, everyone.
Maria didn't have time to cheer for her brother, though she was more than proud. She turned around to look for Eli, but he was gone.

Maria was late to karate because she was trying to get ahold of Eli, who didn't answer her. She was sorry and she needed to say it, but she needed to get to karate more.
Maria hurried down to her dojo, and what she saw shocked her. Groups of kids from all high school grades stood in front of Cobra Kai, even Eli and Demetri. Maria rushed over to her boyfriend.
"Sorry for interrupting," She said to Demetri, who simply shrugged. Maria turned to Eli. "Can we talk about lunch? I'm sorry."
"Yeah me too," Eli admitted. "I should have let go of you when you said so. I should have known you weren't going to do anything dangerous."
Maria wanted to argue, but she didn't want to start another fight. Later tonight they would have a reasonable, calm discussion on this topic. For now, it was karate time.
"I'm sorry, babe." She pulled him in for a hug and he hugged her back, holding her close.
Eli leaned away slowly and ran his hand over her long black hair. He leaned down and kissed her, not caring if someone was watching. When they broke apart, Eli apologized again. "I'm sorry too."
Maybe they wouldn't talk about this again . . . She couldn't stay mad at him.

"When I look around this dojo," Sensei said, weaving between students until he arrived back at the front of the group. Aisha, Miguel and Maria now sported gi's, and Maria couldn't be more proud. "I don't see Cobra Kai material. I see losers, I see nerds. I see a fat kid in a funny hat with his tits poppin' out." Maria rolled her eyes. "But in my short time as a sensei, I've also seen some miracles." The blonde man looked at the three students in gi's. "So, maybe there's some hope for you yet. But first, I need to see where you're at. So everybody, fall in!"
