I couldn't watch any more, so I turned around avoiding looking in the mirrors. As the growling became louder and louder I shoved the radio on, letting my breaths increase as I realised and contemplated what I had just seen. Or what is going on behind me. I began to cry as I thought about what sort of position I was in. And then, I felt something, anger. I opened my eyes letting the tears fade from my vision leaving me gripping onto the steering wheel tightly. I waited a few moments before I abruptly unlocked the car, I opened the door and stepped out, slamming the door behind me.
Brett had Jacob on the floor, his hand wrapped around his throat, Jacob was swinging for him but getting nowhere.
"Stop!" I shouted making both Brett and Jacob look up from their scrap. Brett's grip loosened around Jacobs neck just enough for him to kick Brett off him. Jacob jumped up, he growled in my direction before he lunged for me. And for once, I wasn't scared.
I was angry. Very angry. But I closed my eyes tightly as my breathing began to increase dramatically, I wished for Jacob and Brett to stop. And soon enough, as the impact never came, Jacob never reached me, I opened my eyes, letting out a gasp as I stepped back. Jacob had stopped dead in his tracks. It was like time had frozen, it was like I had paused a movie. He wasn't moving, I slowly and carefully walked a few feet in front of me, hearing Brett walk up to him too, he stepped up beside me as I stared into Jacobs eyes.
"What did you do?" He asked, and I shook my head, confused as hell. What did I do?
I licked my lips as I stated into Jacobs eyes, his mouth was slightly agar, his long teeth popping out from his lips. He seemed harmless like this, seeing him up close, it almost relaxed me, but under the circumstances, there was no way I could be relaxed. I noticed how his nose and cheekbones had changed shape. It was almost like he had a snout, like a dog, or a wolf.
"Seriously Hattie," Brett breathed, "what are you?"
"What are you?" I asked him, without even looking away from Jacob.
Brett was silent.
"Now I see why your favourite colour is blue." He stated and I moved my head to see Brett.
"You can see it?" I asked, Brett only nodded as his eyes frantically moved around my body. Can he see my aura? Can he see my fox? Can see see me?
"Yeah, I can see it." He laughed, and I rolled my eyes. This was not something to laugh about. "There's a car coming." He informed me, making me panic, Jacob was just in the middle of the car park, frozen on the spot.
'Oh go away!' I thought as i stared into Jacobs eyes, I let out a small scream as he gasped and looked at Brett and I like he didn't even know us, he turned around and started to walk away, now in his human form and as the car came round the corner, I took a step back, watching Jacob walk away. I need to get home. I needed to speak to mom. I quickly got in the car, and Brett got in too. I stared at the dash board, confused as hell. Where as Brett just stared at me.
"I can't see it anymore." He told me making me begin to shake.
"Drive." I ordered and he didn't move.
"Tell me what you are." He ordered, "and then I'll drive."
"Kitsune." I stated, expecting him to drive, only he didn't.
"And what the hell is a Kitsune?" He asked. Making me look at him.
"What are you? I answered so I think you should." I told him, making him huff.
"I'm a werewolf." He informed me making me gulp hard. Why was it so hard to process? I'm not fully human.. Why the hell am I finding it hard to understand that there are other supernatural creatures out there?
