After many, many attempts of trying to talk to Casey, I decided to give up and chill out. I laid on my bed as I listened to Rixton- Hotel Ceiling. I hummed along until I was interupted.

"Hattie, love!" My mom called from downstairs, "there's a boy at the door."

I furrowed my eyebrows as I got up from my bed.

"A boy?" I shouted loudly while I headed towards my bedroom door.

"A boy." She replied making me think who it could be. I rushed down the hall and down the stairs, reavealing Brett standing next to my mom. I furrowed my eyebrows as he noticed me. I had a terrible feeling it was going to be Jacob and I was relieved it wasn't but I was still surprised to see Brett.

"Hey Hattie," he greeted and I forced a smile as my mom was eyeing him up suspiciously.

"Hey Brett," I replied, not sure what to say to him.

"Are you ready to study?" He asked and I nodded, making my mum shrug and walk away. He walked with me up the stairs.

"Nice save." I laughed as we walked into my bedroom.

"Does she even know who I am?" Brett asked as he snooped around my room. "Your mom I mean."

"Uh no, I'll tell her who you are later." I informed him as I sat down on my bed and picked up my book. Brett huffed and I looked up at him.

"What?" I asked, getting self conscious.

"This is really depressing," he informed me as he looked around my room.

"My bedroom," I paused, "is depressing?"

"No, this song," he laughed making me join in.

"Change it if you'd like." I told him but he shook his head as he joined me on my bed.

"You looked surprised to see me." He stated and I nodded.

"Well, yeah I was. I totally forgot you were coming." I admitted making him laugh.

"Okay, so. I feel like I need to get to know you if we're going to pull this off." He started as he stared at me intently, I felt a blush coming and I tried so hard to hide it. He chuckled as I quickly got up off my bed.

"Well, what do you want to know?" I asked as I looked out my window so he couldn't see my face.

"What's your favourite colour?" He asked and I smiled to myself.

"Blue." I stated, it was the colour of my ora. If brett were to take a picture of me with the flash on he'd see my ora, it's in the shape of a fox.

"I knew it." He whispered to himself and I bit my lip as I watched people go past on the street. Maybe I wasn't supposed to hear that.

"What's yours?" I asked, finally turning around again.

"Red." He informed me and I laughed.

"Red," I repeated as I walked over and sat on the bed again. Brett opened his mouth to say something only there was a knock on my bedroom door that interrupted him. My mom let her self in and I smiled at her.

"Hattie, love, I forgot to tell you. I'm going over to Peters for the night." She informed me, my smile immediately fading into a jealous frown.

"When am I going to meet this guy?" I asked angrily and she smiled as she stepped into my bedroom. I didn't care if Brett was there, I was rather pissed off.

"Hattie, every guy I've been seeing since your father died, you just don't like them. And I happen to really like Peter, so no offence but, you're not going to meet him." She laughed and I heard Brett's awkward gasp from beside me.

'She can't scare off another guy, especially not Peter.' She thought as she closed the door and walked out as I groaned loudly.

"What the hell?" Brett asked, he sounded kind of amused.

"Don't even go there Brett," I laughed as I tried to move it from my mind. "Shall we order pizza and make a plan of our fake relationship?"

"Hell yeah," he laughed as that's exactly what we did. I called and ordered the pizza as Brett came up with some idea's.

"So," I said as I sat down on my bed again, crossed legged and opposite Brett. "What's going on in that pea sized brain of yours?" I was joking but I don't think he saw the funny side of it. My mouth dropped open as I heard a growl escape his mouth. "What the hell? Did you just growl?"

Brett looked shocked, as if he didn't mean to do it. I laughed as I stared at him. "Oh my god, do it again. You literally sound like a dog or wolf or something."

Brett growled again just to make me laugh, and it did. It had me in fits. "How do you even do that? That's really cool, you know if anyone asks what you're like in bed I'm going to tell them you growl."

I stopped laughing as soon as I realised what I had said. My eyes awkwardly searched his as his frown turned into a smirk.

"That was uh," he paused to think of the right word.

"Surprising?" I asked, to finish off his sentence. He nodded in return, as he laughed. "Yeah sorry about that."

"Don't worry about it," he said softly as he looked into my eyes. "The winter formal is next week."

"Oh I know," I laughed and he looked confused, as if I was missing something.

"So.." He mumbled curiously, "do you have a date?"

"That's a very silly question to ask isn't it?" I asked, "I broke up with Jacob yesterday, you know I don't have a date."

"Well, would you like to go with your fake boyfriend?" Brett asked, hope in his eyes. He seemed nervous, the way he licked his lips and sometimes nibbled subconsciously on his bottom lip. "People would believe that we're actually dating then."

"Yeah Brett, that sounds good." I agreed. "I still haven't got my dress yet."

"Well, what are you doing tomorrow?" He asked and I thought about it.

"Nothing, why?" I asked, wondering why he would ask that.

"Want to go dress shopping?" He asked, and I laughed. Was he serious?

"Brett," I paused, searching his face to see if he was joking, "are you joking?"

"N-no," he stuttered and I felt that familiar heat rising to my cheeks.

"I'd love to go dress shopping," I said quickly and Brett looked surprised.

"Really?" He asked, as if he thought I was having him on.

"Yeah, why not? It can be another one of our 'dates'" I laughed and he joined in.

"Cool," he replied, and I could have sworn I saw him blush. Luckily the door bell rang and I rushed downstairs to get the pizza. I opened the door excitedly only to see Casey and Jacob at my door. My breath hitched in my throat as they barged past me and into my house. I found myself not being able to talk but it seems I didn't need to talk. Brett started walking down the stairs, oblivious to the fact that we had some company.

"Where's the pizza? I'm starving." He laughed before he looked up and scowled. He stood beside me, as Casey and Jacobs mouthed dropped to the floor.

'So it's true..' Jacob thought.
