12th november.

Dallas sighs as she walks out the store heading for her bike, she's got work in twenty minutes and she decided to do her grocery shop now.

She'd had an argument with her mother when she'd woken up and there was nothing in the house, she'd had to take out an early pay to give Dustin lunch money since her mother had used it herself.

She bobs her head to the song playing, 'Long Cool Woman' by the Hollies, humming it a little as she starts putting the groceries in her backpack, making sure she doesn't squish anything before adding two of the bags to the basket on the front of her bike.

When she hears a familiar voice she glances up from her bike, watching Steve and his friends sitting around his car.

She tilts her head at them, she can't see Steve's face, his back is to her but he's just pushed Tommy backwards as he tries to walk away.

"You shouldn't have done that."

"Done what?"

Steve turns mid-walk to his car and spins on them both, "You know what!"

Gripping her handlebars she edges closer, not knowing if she should interrupt or not, "You mean call her out for what she really is? Oh, that's funny, 'cause I don't remember you asking me to stop."

Tommy tries to make himself taller as he leans into Steve, who doesn't even budge as he looks down at him, "I should've put that spray paint down your throat."

"What the hell, Steve?" Carol finally interrupts from watching on the side.

"You know, neither of you ever cared about her. You never even liked her, because she's not miserable like you two. She actually cares about other people."

"The slut with a heart of gold."

Steve leans forward, finger pointing at her making her jump back, "I told you to watch your mouth!"

Tommy shoves him back against the car making him grunt as he meets the metal door, "Hey! I don't know what's gotten into you, man, but you don't talk to her like that."

"Get out of my face."

Steve pushes him back by the shoulders but Tommy pounces forward, gripping his jacket as he holds him against the car. "Or what? Or what?"

Steve struggles as he tries to stay upright and keep the power (and dignity) he has left, "You gonna fight me now, too? Huh? You gonna fight me now too? Because you couldn't take Jonathan Byers. So I wouldn't recommend that."

Tommy feels a small tap on his shoulder and turns to the side only for a fist to meet his face. He falls back, hand holding his jaw, "You bitch!"

He goes to move towards Dallas who is standing beside Steve now, but said man steps in front of her, looking down at Tommy, "Leave."
