the flayed
july 3rd 1985.
Dustin walks over lifting the heavy box off of Steve, he grunts as he stands and Robin, who is still on the floor, Dallas kneeling beside her as she helps her up, sighs, "Is everyone okay?"
"Yeah, I'm great!" Steve yells standing up straight again, "Now that I know that Russians can't design elevators!"
He shoves Dustin aside, ripping the control panel open once more and Robin sighs as she finally stands by herself without the help of Dallas, who is leaning against the boxes as she tries to catch her breath.
"I think we've clearly established that those buttons don't work."
"They're buttons, they have to do something."
"Yeah, if we had a keycard."
Steve finally stops, and looks at her over his shoulder, "What?"
"It's an electronic lock. Same as the loading dock, if we don't have a keycard," She walks over to point it out on the control panel to him, "It won't operate, meaning-"
"We're stuck in here."
"Yeah."
Steve runs one hand through his hair, the other hitting the control panel closed as Erica decides now is her time to talk, "Just so you nerds are aware, I'm supposed to be spending the night at Tina's, and Tina always covers for me," Steve rolls his eyes as he leans against a pile of boxes beside Dallas who watches the ten year old stare back at them, "But if I'm not home for Uncle Jack's party tomorrow and my mom finds out you four are repsoisble shes gonna hunt you own one by one and slit, your, throat."
"I don't care about Tina," Steve leans over the boxes as he starts shouting back at her, "Or Uncle Jack's party! Your mom is not gonna be able to find us if we're dead in a Russian elevator!"
Erica narrows her eyes at him only for Dustin to interrupt with a soft 'hey', they all follow to where his finger is pointing to the small hatch above them, "What if we climbed out?"
Dallas moves some space and Steve readies his hands as he kneels beside her, "What are you doing?"
"Giving you a boost."
She sighs and grabs the metal shelves, placing her foot on his joined hands, she steps up using his shoulder and then his head to be able to reach the latch and twist it open.
Gripping the edge she pulls herself up and slips catching herself on Steve's face and he grumbles something about her before pushing her up a little more.
She pulls herself up, giving herself one last push that sends Steve tumbling backwards, catching himself on his elbows as he looks up at her and watches her upper body disappear before she leans forward pulling her legs with her.
