november 4th 1984.

Dallas walks outside crossing her arms as he watches Jim get in his truck, "El, be careful."

She nods, "Bye, Dallas." Mac barks and she smiles with a slight giggle, "Bye, Mac."

Dallas looks up to Mike placing a gentle hand on his shoulder as they watch the two cars drive away, "She'll be fine, she's strong, she can handle herself."

He nods to himself, "Yeah, she's strong."

"Come on," She says quietly after a few more minutes outside, everyone else has gone inside already leaving them out there alone, "Let's go inside, put a movie or something on."

When she walks in she hears the clattering of things being thrown on the floor and walks into the kitchen to find Dustin emptying the fridge and Steve holding the dead demodog wrapped in a blanket.

"What are you doing?"

"Is this really necessary?" Steve questions Dustin.

Dustin nods, "Yes, it is, okay? This is a groundbreaking scientific discovery. We can't just bury it like some common mammal okay? It's not a dog."

Steve nods, jumping a little to get a better grip, "Alright, alright. But you're explaining this to Mrs Byers, alright?"

He struggles to fit the thing in, the head falling back on his shoulder, "Christ," He looks at the siblings standing side by side, their arms crossed and heads tilted to one side as they watch on, "Help me out."

"What are we supposed to do?"

"I'm not touching that thing."

"Get the door, man."

Dustin makes no rush to get the door as he walks over listening to Steve's complaints as the demodog is shoved inside, "Ew, Jesus."

"I got the door." Steve jumps back and they both slam the door closed.

"That lab is swarming with hundreds of those dogs."

"Demodogs!" Dustin yells and Dallas rolls her eyes.

Lucas shrugs, "The chief will take care of her."

"Like she needs protection."

Steve walks in, arms spread ready to explain something that's probably going to be stupid, "Listen, dude, a coach calls a play in a game, bottom line, you execute it alright?"

"What does sports have anything to do with what we're doing right now?" Dallas questions.

"I'm just saying-" He shrugs looking at her only to be interrupted by Mike.

"Okay, first of all, this isn't a some stupid sports game. And second, we're not even in the game. We're on the bench."

Steve stammers as he tries to defend himself, "So my point is- right yeah, we're on the bench, so, uh, there's nothing we can do."
