Today is a hard day.

Three years ago on this day Mason Fernandez passed away do to heart disease. He loved my mom and me to the moon and back so when we found out the news we were devastated.

Also my father met Aresius and he was fond of him. He told me to keep him around because that boy is crazy about me. We've been dating for a year and I couldn't have asked for a better boyfriend back then.

But I guess every happy thing comes to an end.

Somehow I manage to get up and make myself look presentable for the day. After coming out of the bathroom with my morning routine done, I put on light blue washed jeans, a white shirt and beige high converse on my white socks. I don't feel like wearing make up so I skip that part.

I pack Maya's bag with a little snack, water and a few toys. I dress her in some grey sweatpants after changing her diaper, a pink shirt and white shoes. Since Jake is not here it's easy to make her eat then leave for work.

As soon as we step inside Maya runs off to her dad who, of course, kisses all over her face. He moves to go in his office and I follow him.

He sets her down in his chair and turns to me. Without saying anything he hugs me. I'm a little taken aback, but melt into his embrace anyway.

"You okay?" He asks in a whisper and I nod my head.

I pull back and sit on the couch in the room and he sits in front of me in a chair. "You know, I was thinking." He starts.

"Be careful." I mumble under my breath, but he hears it and sends me a glare.

"So, I know you wanted to stop dancing and couldn't because of the four year contract. I realized it wasn't fair from me to keep you here against your will and I wanted to apologize for that. So Delilah, I'm truly sorry for not letting you leave just because I wanted to continue dancing." He takes out some paper and hands them to me.

I go over them and my lips part when I see he removed two years from the deal and the remainder two years are already signed.

"You can still work here as a bartender or whatever you want, but if not I understand that too." He looks a little panicked.

"Say something. Please."

I look up at him, opening my mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. "I- Wow."

"I got the Aresius Kingsley to say sorry. The world must be ending." He chuckles. "Do I also get a thank you for putting up with your annoying ass for this long?" I ask him.

"Don't push it."

Maya lets out a whimper and both of our heads snaps in her direction. She's rubbing her elbow with her little hands, her mouth in a pout. We get up and I inspect her hand. It's a little red, but nothing else.
