I stare at him in shock while he just sends me a quick smirk. Maya wiggles out of her father's hold and runs into my arms.

The other three people watch the interaction carefully. "Hi mama." My sweet girl whispers. I kiss the top of her head, still just staring at Ares. He steps inside and Jake closes the door with a bit more force.

"May I ask who are you?" Jake's mom asks.

Aresius doesn't even spare her a glance. "Ares."

Angela is literally drooling after him and Jake only gets more frustrated. Ares, not being bothered that he just barged into a stranger's home, sits down next to me.

From the corner of my eye I see Ms Lockwood looking at Maya and trying to get her attention without us noticing.

I turn my body so it's facing Ares and Maya can't see her then send daggers towards the man in front of me. "How did you know where his mother lives?"

He flashes a cocky grin. "I might've checked your location."

I didn't actually think he'd show up.

"It's not funny, Aresius. I need you to get out of here. It's already awkward enough, I don't need you to rile Jake up too." I lean closer so I can whisper, but still have a strong tone so he'll do as I say.

"Darling, do you really think I'll leave you here with all these crazy people alone? It'll be enough when you go on that stupid trip." He leans even closer and says it in the same tone I did.

The clear of a throat brings us out of our stare down and I turn to see Jake looking at me with a deep glare. I lean back in my chair, but Ares just glares back at him.

His mom speaks next. "Hi sweetie. I'm your new grandmother." She tries to touch Maya's hair.

Oh, she did not just say that.

Our innocent little girl turns to her. "No granny. Granny home." Ares and I exchange a glance, trying to hide our grins.

Our sweet girl is so precious.

Jake mom's face turns red from embarrassment and she sits down in a chair. I'm still surprised no one has thrown Ares out yet.

And just as I think about that Ms Lockwood speaks again. "So, Ares, what's your relationship to Delilah." She says my name the same way her son does.

"I'm her ex, also Maya's father." This gets a glare from the mother.

"Well, I personally think that a child should not have her parents or parent figures separated even at such a young age, don't you think so?"

He looks at me while answering. "Absolutely." And gives me little smirk only I see.

Ms Lockwood seems satisfied with the answer even though Ares didn't mean it in the way she wanted it.
