"Maya we're going to be late! Ares can't you dress her faster?!" I shout while throwing things into a laundry basket to clean up a little.
"Darling, I'm dressing her as quickly as I can! But she doesn't want daddy to do her hair. She wants mommy." I hear Ares yell back.
I huff and put everything down so I can go and do her hair. When I step into the room the first thing I see is Aresius having hair band on each of his wrists and Maya's hair standing up.
"Baby, what happened here?"
"Well, I tried, but no, 'cuz I'm not mommy." Ares replies even though it wasn't him I was asking.
I start fixing her hair and clap my hands together when it's done. "Okay, let's go. We're already going to be late."
Ares pulls me back. "Thank you." I nod and take my keys, phone and put them in my bag. We all sit in Ares's car and head to the family day.
I do my fucking make up in the car since I didn't have time for it. Ares starts to chuckle, but covers it up with a cough. I raise my eyebrows at him and he loses it.
"Aresius Kingsley, would you like to share with us what's so funny?"
He shakes his head. "Just-just. God, give me a minute." I wait until he's done laughing.
"Okay, so. It's that you were so focused. I was thinking about going over a bump or something and seeing your pissed off face."
"I don't see how that's funny." I grumble under my breath.
He pulls over and we get out. Both of of take one of Maya's hand and walk in her pre-kindergarten. A few parent stares at us, at Ares.
"Oh the things I'd let him do to me." I hear a women say while her husband is literally next to her.
Maya leads us to a class room where parents are already sitting. We sit at a little table and listen to the lady when she starts talking.
"Welcome everyone to the family day. I really hope we can have a great time and get to know each other a little."
"First how about we go through each of you and your guys's work, okay?" A few 'okay' are heard and a couple starts talking.
"Well, my name is Rachel and this is my husband Danny. We're Ashly's parents. I work as a home mother and Danny is an architect." The people starts to clap, but me and Ares stay still.
"My name is Eva and he's Josh, our little boy Sonny. I'm also a stay at home mom and my husband works at a restaurant."
All attention turns to us after the clapping dies. I clear my throat and straighten up.
"I'm Delilah and this is Ares my" I look at Maya's sad face then at Aresius who's waiting for an answer, and lastly I look at the rest of the parents in the room.
