Arc 3 - Chapter 24

"Alright, folks! After that excellent display of power from our first years, the race continues on well past the first obstacle!" (Present Mic)

With how Deku, Bakugo, and Todorki showed their immense firepower, the crowd was cheering in excitement. "But folks, like any other obstacle race, there's plenty more levels for our fledgling heroes to overcome!"

The next obstacle came into view. There were protruding rock platforms spread across significant gaps. Those gaps seemed endless if you looked below, so the students couldn't afford to be careless.

"Kero--" (Tsuyu)

Tsuyu Asui was the first to attempt the obstacle course. There were ropes hanging that reached the end of the obstacles, Tsuyu used those as her foothold with her froglike capabilities.

"She's fast!" (Uraraka)

"Hehehe... it's finally time!" (Hatsume)

Out of nowhere, a student was hyping herself up. "It's finally time for my babies to be in the limelight. Look, all you support companies from across the country!"

The rest of the student's first impressions of her were not ones of positive things. But alas, that didn't stop this support-course student to make her way across the gap.

"A lot of different people are working hard for their chance, huh, Eraser Head?" (Present Mic)

After that, several people blew right past the course.

"Hahaha! This is great, Eraser Head. We're actually witnessing people crossing the obstacle course like normal!" (Present Mic)

Aizawa scratched his head in response, "Well, in the case of Rimuru we didn't even see what he did. Rimuru just flew right past this."

Todoroki was first to cross, and Bakugo was a near-close second. Meanwhile, the rest of the first years were either in the middle or somewhere behind. 

Deku had one problem. With him restraining his powers, he wasn't sure how powerful his jumps were going to be. It was fine if he was just running, but in the case of him not sticking the landing or even overjumping, there was a risk to it all.

But he wasn't one to be stopped by a mere risk.

"Here goes nothing...!" (Deku)

Deku recalled something Rimuru told him when they were training. "You know Deku, One For All is quite something. For example, if you gathered 90% of your power in your legs to jump, while the remaining 10% is for the rest of your body, you could leap over a mile easily."

At that time, Rimuru had just appeared out of nowhere and said that with a rather monotone voice.

Pulling this off would require a considerable amount of control from Deku. It would be unthinkable for Deku to pull this off before the training for the Sports Festival. But the current Deku had a fair chance of success.

"Ahhh!" (Deku)

Barely— just barely, he managed to jump all the way to the other side of the obstacle course.

"DID YOU SEE THAT!? What monstrous legs!!! I would hate to be kicked by them!" (Present Mic)

"It seems like he focused most of his power on his legs to create a force strong enough to generate that much distance. But my question is-- will his body endure that kind of strain?"

Aizawa wasn't aware of Deku's massive improvements. He had naturally assumed that Deku had used all of his power on that jump. He guessed it must have taken a toll on his legs, worse it could have rendered him immobile and made him lose in this round.
