I guess this could count as a rant, since I'm pretty sure nobody likes bullying.

So yeah. Bullying. I was nominated by StampyLee33 to give a speech about bullying.

I was bullied. Many people have been, so it's not like my saying this is a shocker.

I don't think people realise the impact bullying can do on the victim and the bystanders. It can make people depressed, and worry the bystanders.

Do bullies have a 'reason' to pick on people? If they do, no reason is ever excusable. It's not. There is never a valid reason to put someone down and try to make yourself feel good. 'Cause guess what? It won't make you feel good. It won't make anyone feel good. It makes people feel awful.

Bullying. It's not easy to stop. Bullying happens/has happened everywhere. You can't just snap your fingers and it will go away. It's not that simple.

Bullying is a word. It's an action. A bully is a noun. But bullying is not just a word, and a bully is not just a noun. It affect us. It's something that greatly impacts us in horrible ways. It can lead to depression, and even death. Bullying can range from simple name-calling and picking on, to something that can end someone's life.

Of course, there is a dictionary definition to bullying. But what does it mean to you? What's the definition of bullying to you? Now this can be hard. How can you sum up bullying people in one sentence.

Here's what I think. I think bullying means to hurt someone physically, emotionally, and technology wise. That's the technical way I think of it. The other way I think of it, is that it's a way of lowering someone's self esteem and making them feel insecure.

Again, bullying can not be stopped overnight. We have to work together. I want you to perform an act of kindness. Whether it's just complimenting someone on their smile, or maybe helping someone study for a test they completely forgot about. How does it feel to perform this act of kindness? Let me tell you, I'll bet it feels way better that bringing someone down.

If you think bullying someone can make you feel better and more happy, you're wrong. Helping people, and performing the smallest acts of kindness can go so far. That is what truly makes you and others impacted by your actions feel good.

Happiness is contagious. Unfortunately, bullying sort of is, too. Let's stop the sickness of bullying, and infect more people with happiness. I think we can make a difference, as long as we try.
