Le le le le. A French word meaning 'the' in masculine form. A definite article. Yes, I take French. Oui, je parle français. Jealous? :3 No I'm kidding, but I seriously do take French.
Have you noticed that people always say 'le' when there's a timeskip, flashback, etc?
Like 'le time skip'.
I get it when people use it when they're trying to be funny or making a randomness book. In fact, I write like that in my randomness book. I do that because I'm trying to be funny. If you're writing a funny book, a rant book, etc., go ahead and le all day!!
But it doesn't look good in a professional book, and it doesn't look professional at all.
When you're doing a flashback, put it in italics. That'll let people know that it's a flashback. When doing a time skip, do something like ~~~~~ or <_<_< or anything basically. I don't know what they're called though.
Here, I'll put everything I said into an example.
"What should we do?" I ask my friend.
"I don't know," she says.
"Let's explore the forest," I say. My friend agrees and we start to trudge through the forest, finding refuge.
~~~~~
My friend and I continue to walk through the forest. I remember when we've ended up here in the first place.
"We need to find a house," I say.
And it goes on. I honestly don't know what I wrote, I just whipped something up. I don't know if the flashback is supposed to be in past tense, I always write in present tense.
Hope this advice helped!
