I like what I did here, but I also don't like it. Do you know what I mean?

Sherlock was indeed an attentive man. He was a high functioning sociopath, there is no chance someone could hide a little secret from him.

No matter how deep you bury your secret, Sherlock will dig until he finds it.

Y/N was hiding something from him, that was clear. Something that no-one's supposed to know. A secret. A deep buried secret, trapped in her mind, only for her eyes to be seen. Sherlock wanted to know what it was. She kepts it from everyone and it made him curious.

"You're hiding something." he once said during dinner. Y/N looked up from her food. "What?" she sounded nervous and Sherlock leened over, while laying his head on his folded hands. He narrowed his eyes slightly. "A secret." She put her fork down on her plate. "Sherlock, what do you want?" she asked. "I wanna know what it is, that you're hiding." she rolled her eyes. "You're the detektiv. I'm sure you can figure it out yourself." then she continued eating and afterwards went up to her room.

"You have a secret lover?" Y/N furrowed her eyebrows at his comment. "That was the most random thing you've ever said." she spoke. "Am I right?" "No." she laughed.

"You're in love with my brother?" Sherlocks flatmate busted out laughing. "What?" "This is something worth to hide, isn't it?" he asked while thinking further.

He thought it was a bit embarrassing, that he had so much trouble figuring out what Y/Ns secret was. His guesses were getting weirder and weirder and he didn't even think about them anymore.

"You're a muderer?"
"You're working for my brother?"
"You're in love with Anderson?" -Y/N was cringing at this guess
"You're supposed to kill me?"

"You've been harming yourself?"

He said that in affect, because Y/N pulled her sleeve down and she didn't say anything against that. "I'm right, I presume." She nodded. There was no reason to deny it now anyway. He figured it out.

Her little secret, buried six feet underground, was now shown to the world or at least to Sherlock. He digged for it like it was a treasure. Now he finally found it but there was no gold in it, shining in his face and sparkling in his eyes in a yellow tone. It didn't make him happy to know. He hoped that this guess would be denied like the other ones.
There was no gold, but darkness. It was like if you would open the chest all you would see is a black whole that seems endless, like you could fall forever if you make a step forward.

"Congratulations, you're right." Y/N finally said and smiled. "I'm slightly proud of you." she layed the book, she was reading on the small table next to her chair. Sherlock blinked a few times, trying to process what he just found out. "I'm sorry." he said.

The consulting detektiv went up to the chair she was sitting in and kneeled down in front of her. "May I?" he took her hand. "I don't know." Y/N whispered back. Sherlock pulled her arm to him and layed a kiss on the spot where he supposed the scars to be. "I'm sorry." he repeated himself. "It's fine." she replied quietly. He leened forward and placed another kiss on her cheek.

"Sherlock, you don't have to do this, it's fine." "What if I tell you, I want to do this?" he smiled at her. "Now I know your secret. May I expose myself?" he took a deep breath before he continued:"I'm in love with you."

That was his. His buried secret. The only one that dug that deep to figure it out was his brother. One look and Mycroft knew it. But now he admitted it to her. He thought it was just fair that she now knew it and it felt good to say it, even though he expected to be rejected.

He closed his eyes, while their foreheads leened against each other. He waited to be pushed away but nothing like that happened. Instead he soon felt warm, soft lips against his. He was surprised but as soon as he processed what had happened he kissed her back.

"I have another secret, Sherlock." Y/N mumbled a bit out of breath after the kiss. "Do you want to find out what it is?" she added. "I'd love to." Sherlock replied. "I love you too."
